Position title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary: The Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professionally, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team. 2 Y1 b- O1 z8 |& R- }: G$ i

Key Responsibilities:
( [7 l1 A. ?+ [+ z5 s- ?2 l0 Y: v• Answers incoming calls and routes calls to appropriate settlement services
+ H, ^. \8 w2 B: R• Welcomes clients and directing them appropriately
9 A4 Y0 X' V" x( ^• Perform general secretarial functions such as typing minutes, agendas, reports and letters; photocopying, faxing and booking/arranging facility (within and outside the agency) for workshops and seminars organized by the ISP staff.9 q B) |( k, G! E. J
• Provides assistance to immigrants and refugees seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker Y/ ?$ o5 y2 c r# x/ c9 J( k
• Maintains and updates the new immigrant information boards with information on upcoming courses, seminars and workshops, employment information and other information of interest to newcomers; }- Y' J, ^! S2 }7 `
• Assists the ISP team in reminding clients of appointments or of workshops or newcomers’ club events8 w, ?& [9 M I
• Assists the ISP staff in contacting and coordinating seminar speakers and assists in the distributions of communication on workshops.

• Fluent in Mandarin and in Cantonese is an asset: P: D7 S5 Z J- H$ l# Z0 `
• Have good English written and oral skills
! ~6 }$ O3 ?7 Y• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients+ P z, v0 l$ @8 W; V0 a
• Microsoft Office Skills – Excel, Word, Outlook

• 2 years of office and clerical experience: {+ @! E; D/ l9 J
• Receptionist experience in a fast paced environment2 q( Y% p% ?+ ~7 S/ W( @+ b; C
• Balance of clerical, phone, and requests6 b) ?5 V) U5 Q! J; e9 j
• Customer Service experience
+ c- s5 M7 k6 I. U/ g0 k( N• Work environment maturity and professionalism8 C; K \) u2 C2 J# z) C
• Ability to work well independently as well as in a team

2 m$ \4 C n/ Z2 l. s9 D$12.00/hour + benefits including CPP, EI, WCB, Alberta Health and 50% Blue Cross (year one)
