The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit
society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth
volunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth
, M2 c3 j8 {' k1 R5 n: }ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
  W- `5 M/ d8 Corganizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more
: C$ w3 X; m* V6 qsustainable communities.

+ T5 F+ H: Y1 t6 MPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
1 q, t: G' z6 k  m7 [2 l" n1 kand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
4 _7 L" `' A# L! F0 Bnon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
. m4 j. k* A, q: vworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
1 s, \5 r: ?! n# jpolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
" L, b  |9 F; F# iaffairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
" _  g, d3 [* x+ y1 c6 A6 ]vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
/ c, }8 W+ R, y( F  Xarrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
- p$ X) R4 u# Q0 Ymedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
4 T2 Z8 H4 u3 T4 y$ G8 Nfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

+ O: n! W0 Z+ w- z/ a2 w6 y( APLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
* B$ A1 A) v* O. Q2 Jthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
/ h, x5 Z) t8 t; j" Gdevelopment of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
4 y& R  C5 g" C& g; m# wthe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

+ P  Q2 [' G4 n9 `/ ]5 i3 CKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
% J3 W; c4 W7 V) B& c0 N2 y6 Oincluding a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
) Z# F' @( |& x7 ]organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
& _5 E. N' ?0 swork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
