6 F8 f) P" T2 Ssociety led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth
volunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth
ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,

sustainable communities.

- t9 \3 F! L7 y# NPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
5 e( ~- a4 @: x5 f- a9 `5 lnon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
7 m3 b) f+ z" d* d' a) T# |works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
+ W, Z2 r) V( g2 f8 ?9 upolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

' w/ e% n* Y8 u5 E) n  }9 fPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
. u/ L1 Q0 t- Pmedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
; j1 |6 L) T, Z: t5 W; gfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
! H% q% c/ l2 y$ @0 p. oto implement the organizational policies.

) l1 H4 w2 b+ @' A" ?, k4 KPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
" s( ^7 E2 }5 ias per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
  u0 @( p8 Q9 x& P) x+ |services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
" C( I% h  j- z& Zthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
+ T6 ^2 p; o3 X; Vthe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
% ^. y6 F' ?, }# k" K% Xpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
/ d3 i- r( q$ v* h7 vpartners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
  a1 P8 ]# P' j2 v9 R: r+ V7 Yorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
8 g: C# a* k& Mwork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

9 |; L0 |' O( U& u6 |, }5 nPLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
/ V5 c0 \7 e. e: l& |% Iproposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
with youth.
