5 b, _1 }) m6 k2 A" Z: ]Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
2 }( _6 c* a/ J1 C1 i# J$ R+ Qand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
' O$ ~/ Y% b, u" A( v1 z) nnon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED& @ S5 M9 m, r2 p& \# \7 |
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and" w2 Y) e8 i9 }/ T' Q: M" [( z
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's+ U/ P" h- s* b+ f9 B; S l/ Y
affairs at all times.

! ?' |, v$ F4 c, `1 A5 `: d0 aPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
. o! V+ N8 m8 } p6 h: ovision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative# B: y% x$ ?+ _5 x& e! H* X4 J/ ]
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,# ]* u6 X; L7 E4 O2 c# R; L, G4 E
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports8 e$ a" z2 }# |9 ?( k1 v
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures5 z( C3 E2 r+ U$ n) r- ^; ]0 ?2 f
to implement the organizational policies.

) \7 B, g K: FPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded

services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have

development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
" [% K1 @' c& Q6 b6 O3 r: Qthe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure0 f- Z* j( P u. T) |* c9 f
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
5 y4 V5 A1 q; X \+ z. K) zpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
( V) E: |- A! `# {* gthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

9 D! M! y$ a. K" A' E% ?Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups4 [. u+ m0 m- d" m
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government2 w. j: `5 |5 i( H+ J6 X
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
8 j, N$ B* M& g! I$ ?: r% Gorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
3 _ [' j) W0 p7 uwork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
' Y4 Q2 h0 Y# f% _( }managing projects and budgets.
