The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit
( l. B, x0 s7 @! Z4 o& P2 Ysociety led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth
7 M' o3 W7 y: kvolunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth
2 Z; F: L% [* r  w4 R  S! oages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
organizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more

  t. [5 T6 ~- n: M& c' m  NPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
5 f- l! v! _9 B0 L: band leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
; u, L, o% h7 G" bnon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
% y+ \$ @* e- m" n$ }; h1 Gworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
8 k3 J3 n. A& L2 m2 j& J% Sarrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

, k3 z  A, g* T7 L, t* VPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
7 r: f0 B0 ~1 ~+ r0 ^( i- |: Odevelopment of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
" D  G5 E6 }8 s3 B, @payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
  c! L3 i6 H0 s* qincluding a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
: a; z9 ?. ?- H, ]) M! O% lorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
7 T1 \+ l5 H6 \* x+ l6 @  Awork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

) \: T& e& W) o. ]$ `PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
proposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
