ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

The CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.' `: w5 s& ]! Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.' g; r5 Q* W) `7 A' g; Z8 r

$ e- R9 ] k- a! f; F& g3 @; j1. Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.: v/ `+ L; r5 i5 m; s
2. Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.# a) P8 k( B6 A; x1 ~0 n. t3 i
3. Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.6 A) q4 J% m7 _
4. Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
