JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  1 I, L- |3 p6 s) d" j
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  & X( Z: F/ [4 Q2 t: c( j0 ~
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  ' f" Q* W+ S( O# F( s  Q" ^
cleanliness and order in the bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* f& {! I0 c9 J# j% u0 U
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
, h$ m3 w. j" R# K# L$ m3 ~! z5 q: @beverage items.! C: B/ [) {5 _  |! h9 n" W7 `

! Z2 R" A' T3 A2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  / @, m* O# R$ w$ D$ p4 M
bar and debit floats.
$ E0 G2 p# i% V( V3 R4 I1 [. r" ~, o3 X4 Y4 G0 H6 ]
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  - r* N/ j, H, l/ Y7 M
each shift, and upon closing.! P4 S: x+ m8 u& T4 ]* i3 A8 K! w
0 R7 c7 @) B4 J) P! s
4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular    _7 F  U( @7 R8 X5 S- `
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
5 i4 T$ `4 F7 Fseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.5 b- b( E" a* S, ^: t
! L0 R+ }+ o" v# G! s
5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  - g( g  i8 b# ], L9 X$ x0 G6 N
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
' v* M8 N+ n, L2 G- L6 k: Y/ f) A, dproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.1 [$ Q( p$ Y/ w% {

: a  U2 k5 h/ M4 R% E! `6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
( j" t+ j& Y6 I3 c$ Xmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  8 ]& n4 `0 H. }: U+ `
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  ! P' C4 M7 X9 l* u
accordance with Students' Union policies.
+ [2 ]' h# S. W, I" a( M1 H  ?, a9 T3 Z1 _; X0 x& F  l
7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  1 x% {8 v" }( ^
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
7 _" ]( Y/ I2 G9 d7 R- B9 ?, g; E To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
9 r. M5 P3 C! ]7 U2 [Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

6 {/ Y  o  k9 m0 a9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
, d7 P8 b; e8 T; JSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
; {% q: |6 J8 y5 u+ [( s- m1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.+ H' U/ `$ J# U4 `& I. P) f& U

& ]/ Q& m7 G. b! _& h( ]6 L0 a2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
1 S# _& c. I( G6 Moperation.* u* s" G* z6 Y0 [% {1 d" L

5 C% X1 x' Z0 g3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  & d6 _) S8 p, K0 n: Y6 y( G
accordance with Students' Union policy.+ ~% e. \$ t) [' j) y2 s

+ W7 G( _3 C$ R3 {4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.& ]! N4 u* O7 s5 m6 I9 Q
' @9 G; W& W- D. L
5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
. T2 S2 f! \; {3 J8 J  eUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
; p  L+ y+ y9 l* R/ c6 gattitude.

Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
