11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
Thursdays

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
' }3 p+ i  O; ]. @customer service and room cleanliness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
( I* x  {7 u) `4 _# N3 Zhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
+ k2 l- z  f0 w( _' _- C# a5 Qaccordance with Students' Union policies.

- b8 W2 p% s4 `# W( @8 ?4 a3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
* ~( Y% R- I% @* Cincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
0 j& _: S9 `* z% Iaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
5 J# d4 ]0 d# b4 d% a! @+ _% X6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
! m" _3 d, ]; A0 r) ]- ?; gAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.

  \: N' M8 X# K7 CQUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
8 m7 b& }: C7 ^6 s  L
, j; O6 E$ t( m  s- \2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
, Z9 o0 h/ g2 z4 s1 ~operation.

7 `& i. F- Y0 n$ Z" A4 R( m* R: l3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.

" @  ]% _3 L* E: g" T  ?4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
