  Q* Z) c! \- }: eJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
( S" N4 k* U" Y. ]Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
0 w' H* ]1 C. r; ~3 zcarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
: W1 b3 Q8 n! }customer service and room cleanliness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
2 s) ?5 `2 ~/ E: u) ~0 P: R1 h2 T1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

1 ~9 B% [0 a/ E! k2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
# O4 p( O+ P! ]0 D0 b; Phigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
4 u* D% P; N1 U0 X5 f; o7 d7 qaccordance with Students' Union policies.
2 ^$ p3 ?) u, D
3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
  N* v. h! B7 Q2 utotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

1 D& X% }: I  i4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
/ x0 A. O& `) B# M7 D" {! Wincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
% J. s% E1 c8 v1 Y( {and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.
# y; q/ B4 M* G4 h& W% m( a# ]% v
5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
" ^' u- O' M9 y* g6 q6 Raction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
& t0 `! G" i. u; R4 |6 Eintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
4 f4 x1 w" Q! OAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.


) e' ^- d9 t: n) B& |- WQUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

0 V- a  k& H8 d( `2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
" M! z/ ?" w# O5 [operation.
8 J& }: c# G; w9 _8 E3 p
& n- g! @6 z5 \7 ^0 j# m3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.
# n+ A6 c, R7 ?$ h
# c6 |4 `1 I% ?5 T- v4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
4 D6 Z' @$ B7 Z; o8 `+ W& A: ncard transactions.
& x2 b$ i( B1 h$ C1 V  e
5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
