currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

  \. t" u2 v+ l" Z7 cSalary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
0 W$ k4 ~7 o! u4 ]0 {7 K% |! _- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
. A' e% j* D+ O/ G* gschool year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
2 N* P3 A# F1 ZCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
5 b4 B! t# {" R" [6 e$ |venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
3 L5 R1 F! A) H) z8 wparticipants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
" X: [( C$ Y& Otheir program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
$ R  u9 U$ Z& e/ G. otheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
, b- y  X( H: [" I/ f$ iassisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
+ l4 ~+ |1 A$ x; J5 Lexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
% T0 K& r% s5 {1 g' }such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

9 H' R% j% ?$ @& o# o% rQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
/ b9 _, {; [' L# Y8 L1 h' FCommerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
9 ~0 ^# B; m" }1 U9 b4 [# x- P! gfluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
; e' ?/ b0 P+ Gskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
; Y+ X! j; S3 V; ~0 w; g3 X  |. mExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
; h( W( @0 T: ~2 texperience coordinating group activities an asset.
