The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

+ G) {* S: w( Q+ VDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
+ ~2 S0 N: b+ }$ ~for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
0 i" X: [" b: T$ tcompounds by chromatography.

4 j5 i3 J: l' _# s7 q+ n- OQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
- R3 S% `% {- ^* {( j7 O/ L5 H  |analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
+ }( `' D* V0 c% }! `! n3 Qseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
. X; o" N9 v" ]4 F* I) S( a! zof a team essential.
+ V, P# T! q5 S. {2 d7 Z- GThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
- {% ^. I8 }8 d& ^# Xhope to work in these areas.
