Job description
! X( h! p8 T" {" T" c- ~* IStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
" W/ o% L+ l( ?0 {weekend hours.
1 Y( J: t2 ?9 c) PYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
& _: p, ~$ x, y7 @4 V/ [lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
' k; w3 s( y, W9 z0 t! g3 @centre.
$ P! Q6 a3 `% s. J$ {These responsibilities include:& t2 i& y0 ?1 m, x0 }
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
7 I1 g7 [5 S X8 t$ Y) |-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
' W5 ^* m* z/ T2 U9 y-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and4 \; i6 T/ r0 R5 @1 x9 @. d
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 4 z ?* N* F; [. i
facilities’ maintenance, etc. + [7 T" A+ Q* u# p
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
& l9 p% T+ T+ a! \+ Lclients’ files etc. / X0 F; |% J: S; r, E
Statement of Qualifications

6 ?- i$ ~6 I( O4 o( h& y-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
3 Z# l$ `: Y; _education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination % M' j; Q7 x8 }$ a9 p9 y
of education, training and /or experience.
. D/ R: u! u' n( m1 A/ `Knowledge/Technical competencies:
, i/ k( m' c! g- i( {-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
+ p- O6 j& ]; Y7 [! ^% J-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
2 ?# f9 U& A& X, y' @and Excel. 1 E. q. c( `- e" X# x+ q
-Experience using and updating an information database.

-Experience in using MS Access.

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
