Job description
/ p% y* H' R0 a' n1 I/ o. p3 w8 iStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and8 w+ e- [- ]) l6 L
weekend hours.
/ E( C/ a# r5 o' h; t( t, UYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
2 [0 X* X: A1 j- N, a. R ulab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the1 `! e* ?$ t; a& h% I. Z
centre.# y: e. z7 B$ k9 u- l. R+ {
These responsibilities include:9 Z$ _) m# p: v7 v
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
! E; R7 `2 p8 b* j-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
7 u' p& D5 B) a6 _-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and" k/ N2 l- y/ V. J/ U
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 7 P; n. a& X8 Q: `+ W2 l! n# Z9 \" O& a
facilities’ maintenance, etc. 6 ^5 ]/ `; ?# Q4 f* G& S* s: q# }
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic 3 D+ D1 F! @4 u8 h# h
clients’ files etc.

2 F% r5 l8 r3 ~ S9 ^-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, , O) k& L( u4 ^3 H
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination ( d- h6 Q0 a, {+ c# U$ Q0 W
of education, training and /or experience.
( Y6 r: \& ?6 z! h, dKnowledge/Technical competencies:0 E( v7 T$ ]1 |' l; p/ a3 E
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.' G4 e/ A" R: Z" m
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
5 L9 r+ R. n" q4 v/ gand Excel.
6 i+ ]/ i9 P+ @-Experience using and updating an information database.

-Experience in using MS Access.

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
