TORONTO -- Sun Life Financial Inc. said Monday it is retiring the Clarica brand as part of a revised marketing strategy.
$ j! i/ Q2 L1 Z8 @7 l/ u, ~" ^Clarica was introduced in 1999 by Mutual life of Canada, and was acquired by Sun Life three years later.
0 o/ ]& v( @6 @" r uThere are almost two million Clarica policy- and accountholders in Canada, said Sun Life. Clarica also has a sales force of about 3,500.

The company said the changes will be completed by the first quarter of 2008. Sun Life will incur a $40-million to $50-million charge in the first quarter of 2007.
