EDMONTON (CP) - A tentative deal that would see Alberta doctors receive their first fee increase in almost a year-and-a-half should help retain physicians in the booming province, but it won't necessarily improve patient care, says the president of the Alberta Medical Association. 6 S; X2 v- W4 N5 M) g

"It will keep physicians hopefully in this province. It will hopefully attract more physicians to this province and therefore has the potential to improve care," Dr. Gerry Kiefer said at a news conference Saturday. $ L0 |# u$ @% g) p: g& Z, Q' Q7 N
