Calgary police have now laid charges against an 18-year-old Calgary woman following the death of a little girl at a crosswalk in the city's northwest.
6 u- f6 I8 b  |+ JPolice Sgt. Doug McIlwraith said Tuesday that Angela Ta has been charged with passing a motor vehicle stopped for a pedestrian at a crosswalk, failing to yield at a crosswalk, and careless driving.
* f0 X* }/ a) U% k+ _2 eMcIlwraith says the charges could mean a licence suspension, a $2,000 fine or six months in jail.
Six-year-old Jenna Chang and her mother, Ye Qiao, were struck Jan. 18 by a black BMW while using a marked crosswalk at 32 Avenue and 37 Street N.W.
3 ~% e7 s) ?7 C1 ^* k, ]* bChang died of her injuries. Her mother is recovering in hospital.
