EDMONTON - A 32-year-old foster mother was charged Saturday with the aggravated assault of a three-year-old boy who suffered life-threatening head trauma while in her care.
The toddler, who can't be named, suffered severe brain damage and was on life support late Saturday, his anguished father said. The foster mother, who can't be named to protect the identity of the child, is also charged with child abandonment and failing to provide the necessities of life, city police said.

foster mom, 是寄养母亲，比如说亲生父母被指控虐待小孩，或者入狱了，法庭会把小孩寄养给人家暂时抚养
