We live in Magrath Heights and we are currently struggling with our 5-year-old daughter's to Kindergarten registration. I wonder if there are parents in Magrath, MacTaggart area who are struggling with this issue as well. I wish to explore possibilities to group up and help each other out on making our lives easier with the half-day kindergarten program.

To kick it off, here are my two cents. 0 V. J7 J+ O: V# B/ {2 ^4 q1 f
6 S5 L. j9 p% D8 x( @! A! |; Q We need to make up our mind as to which school to register to since one kid can only send in ONE registration at a time, and it can be really hard to switch school in the middle of the year. Currently there are two options for my daughter:2 s- K% v& b9 q% S6 w
; s# m9 s- o( ?" o9 POption 1: Regular program - a new school - Nellie Carlson(http://www.epsb.ca/schools/newsc ... ions/nelliecarlson/) is under construction and scheduled to open September 2016; boundaries not finalized yet. : ]6 q1 E5 T: i1 ?5 w0 k8 A2 n
No on site child care available. 7 g" q. x! V3 o: |. W+ }# D

IF we fall under the final boundary, what to do with the afternoons? My husband and I both work full-time 30 minutes drive from home. I maybe able to take one afternoon off in a week, part-time is not likely an option.

' M) J7 f; K& b1 @Option 2: Mandarin Bilingual program - Parkallen School where there is a YMCA KinderCare close by, $755 a month, AND there is a wait list.
" C( T& U2 b/ n) v7 Z$ |6 a9 M! c Honestly, I wish to send my daughter to the Mandarin Bilingual school, but again, there is the afternoon issue, YMCA is not guaranteed and expensive. I wonder if there are other parents considering this school and we could come up with a program to support each other and incorporate with Chinese elements. / @% e7 E) M2 V8 u; e/ c
