Builders started construction on 468 new single detached homes last month, a 34 per cent increase from August 2013.! E# |; V X/ H' r" k$ V' K# y
3 W0 v! \4 G3 B1 q8 |“Right now we're running flat out, we’re building as much as we can,” said Rob Busby, construction manager for Landmark Homes. w4 K6 f; j, _( h7 D* l
, L, u' d" Z2 |7 EThe increased demand is due to strong job and population growth, according to Christina Butchart, senior analyst with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
