Builders started construction on 468 new single detached homes last month, a 34 per cent increase from August 2013.( \& N* c2 R4 T1 V

# o1 N' J2 T( y! C/ KThe increased demand is due to strong job and population growth, according to Christina Butchart, senior analyst with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
