According to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.; ] x5 D" Y/ H) U: ?
4 l& ^4 _: n" k' x; WShe lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.8 g l0 Q' [' n. J3 ~) t
$ L, C* ~; {' E f* sThe man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.. I: g/ k9 M% E4 y

Search efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.
