Immigrant women and their families can now access a “household toolkit” crafted by a local service group for new immigrant families, through real estate agents. ) \ I0 g y( L% c. P5 [% G

In the tool kit are 75 common hand tools – like a hammer and screwdriver – as well a book on how to buy a home, a home maintenance schedule and other items.

Josephine Pallard, the group’s executive director, said Alberta’s economic boom has caused a housing shortage that makes it more difficult for immigrants to find a place to live and integrate into Canadian society.
