认识一个当地人,由于好久不见了,于是发短信问她的近况,并说了自己的近况,还说等天气好点一起见面聊聊之类的。她给我回复说“Sounds like we have a lot of coughing up to do. " 我大概能猜出来是说“我们到时可以好好聊聊说说之类的。”但又不确定,查字典coughing up 一般都是“咳嗽,勉强拿出” 的意思。请英语高手为我解答,什么叫coughing up to do. 非常感谢。
