Orientation 2006: The Action Starts Here! Your registration in the University of
4 o% R( L( ^ @# uAlberta's Orientation program is now confirmed. In addition, we would
2 v# b3 Y' R1 o& Elike to thank you for your interest in the My Undergraduate Groups 0 C9 k4 ]- w! g* Y
(MUGs) Program; you have been signed-up for the 2006-2007 school year. By
& n; O, F. m! V+ F8 ?$ Vattending both Orientation and MUGs, you will receive a great deal of & f7 Y2 p/ q+ I2 v1 y6 \
information that will make your transition to the University community $ J ~+ R i; P4 T {' A( c
more successful.

* y% z- d- Z$ U) MOrientation 2006 will be held on Monday, September 4th and Tuesday, ' J% T% I" l$ i' P
September 4th, 2006. Check in is at 9:30am on September 4th. Your check

be found south of Saskatchewan Drive, west of HUB. M. t: l. ?/ P! x

If you are unfamiliar with campus you can visit

) S9 E' J% J: u0 b; Gto find your check in location all by yourself, there will be hundreds ! i$ O5 b& @1 l/ v" z
of volunteers ready to help you when you get to campus. Specifically ! c, B3 p5 t" q0 \9 v, I
look for the volunteers in bright colored t-shirts, as they have a wealth
0 F) y, M+ l' P1 l: B& Kof directional information.+ Z2 z0 W. c$ I
5 A! t: Y. L5 O4 o0 h
Both days run on a similar schedule, from 9:30am to 6pm, with evening
9 q% ^: ^7 \( E0 |0 l M s8 Wactivities planned for both days. Throughout the 2 days you will attend G' U7 D6 H" k7 S
a variety of sessions crucial to your success at the U of A. On Tuesday ! \+ i+ A: v, u
evening we host our highlight event, the President's Address, in
4 {1 R$ B1 f( W% MHawrelak Park.! K; V+ n7 w, v* y. f7 K
7 S9 x" W3 a' Q8 n
You will also meet your MUG Leader and the rest of your MUG group on
- X0 q) ]9 ?0 K$ d; c# o/ ?0 MSeptember 4th, with whom you will spend the two days at Orientation 2006, e! b0 W0 J U; e4 _
and then continue to meet with for the entire year.
; B, x1 l: l+ W }4 w- _4 y5 v
; {, j( f4 s$ |' V" c0 T# [" ^! CBoth MUGs and Orientation 2006 will provide many opportunities for you 0 `# B1 u& k; M+ t+ } }
to get all of your questions answered and to meet other students from * ^# k D: m% x$ i5 D
your faculty. Among other things, you are scheduled to receive your , ?7 {- \4 Z8 \" r# o
ONECard on one of the two days of Orientation 2006. To be able to process 5 N; P3 z/ B; g) q4 f- F
your ONECard, you will need to bring your acceptance letter and a piece , q" f: J) F* E9 W& G
of government-issued photo ID. You will also need to bring your Campus ' I& D/ u$ i$ k
Computing ID (CCID), which was sent by e-mail from AICT (Academic
7 C+ b: w2 m- E% v" W; x8 l2 DInformation and Communications Technologies). Dress for the weather and
/ M3 Y9 K9 R% ?bring either money or food for up to four meals (lunch and dinner for the
, J0 \" z/ I2 e7 ?, Jtwo days of Orientation).
