0 c- W/ e: q2 x5 r( s6 Z: N- b% R
: \& p6 D# t. ?
        1. I couldn't care less.
1 Q- P( T7 W! L; y1 W) E( \& B+ ~+ R/ M% E
I don''t care at all. 或 I don''t give a hoot. 例如:
8 `5 p' N: m" ]: }5 G8 m+ _. J9 C( g  D
What do you think of the budget-cut?(你对预算削减有何看法?)
- F* f9 Q, `+ j5 |0 J$ U6 F" g& s. l* t0 a# r
" F  y9 @) j) G, ?( n- g  G" G4 v4 w% p
  How do you like Mr. Lee's political point of view?(你喜欢李先生的政见吗?)
1 t3 {! t; y( U% [; V" P) _: ^
+ e6 e; h1 E6 U9 V- a- p& S. d  v9 Z  I couldn't care less.(我才不在乎呢!)
$ v+ i( A6 Q1 B2 F; E# T% B! R1 i* b$ O3 V
" d4 ?. ]3 ?) [/ M0 A
  I couldn't care less about the promotion or pay raise.(我不在乎升级或加薪)
" L4 C- f. _: U4 [. O1 N
Yes, you do(care).
# g( [% S8 S% u; p9 r& @$ i6 y/ k5 t6 v) r, d* T
I couldn't care more. 就是“我很在乎”(I care a lot.)或 I care deeply. 同理: ; G! Y, f! W2 o# o
. F) i: S& M- {8 ]" [  [7 W
  I couldn't agree more.=I totally agree.(我完全同意)
$ M, Q+ t. i) p" {3 G( u$ ?7 ~& j
  I couldn't please you more.=I did my best to please you.(我尽量使你高兴) 9 H9 M* X; h4 f! g/ o: f% g
$ m7 C  t: w7 }
  I couldn't be more right.=I am totally right. 9 j3 w2 A; J) d2 M9 D5 H
1 d  J* C: T9 b9 f5 }
" q% t1 J, G. ^7 G, x$ R
: ~7 Z/ t. V8 k8 N4 X7 O  I couldn't be more wrong. & O6 A  e) a+ ^, W

& p4 A, N& Q6 y; W7 P+ M

4 N  A$ E6 I0 N7 m$ n7 z7 q7 D) B I could care less. = I care to some degree.(care 的程度可能减少)
, ]. B  p( ~2 ~/ Y
3 [1 L: P3 L5 ~9 Z- L2 ^/ D  I could care more.=I care some.(care的程度也许增加)(主词可用任何人称代名词:he, she, you, we, they 等。但只用 could,不用 can。) / a( L% Q3 v, M5 M2 y; k  y  {
. S2 h4 [) C4 k) |
  2. No bones about it. ' ^8 A) I  L8 ~$ Y& a4 C" _

6 \9 j) l6 ^' |. U$ w  意思是:真实的,诚恳的(truly, sincerely or exactly),也就是 to make no bones about it.(bone 要加 s, it 是指 something)例如:
+ `4 s7 G% B- [. G2 y
1 k: W9 l1 W8 X  His wife is beautiful;no bones about it.(他的太太真是很漂亮)
( r7 y6 G% \9 p8 x7 }- S9 l/ }" x9 ^& {' E( E; S
  Mr. A made no bones about it when he talked about abortion issue.(当 A 先生谈到堕胎问题时,他是诚恳的。)
7 `  O5 D' w0 _/ L* I8 C2 y
: x6 k! }& M& n; A- x* S  When I spoke on the topic,he said, "No bones about it."(也就是他同意我的看法)
- F: ]( T* ^8 _2 D
7 c3 H8 j/ U% i6 n3 l- u: P  No bones about it;the weather is very chilly today.(今天是真的太冷了)
* L  ]/ w& s+ e0 ]; @9 a' M
+ Q% x' t( q4 |- u/ p: X  3. take it on me!
7 `4 s9 g% \6 l' ?: ]" {
0 s7 G6 J+ h5 k  d  T  意思是:“这是我的,请用吧!”“这是免费的”(help yourself to it; it is free),这多半是指吃的东西或一些不贵重的东西。例如:
' B0 i; [/ ~) a  Y! ~, |9 F7 y  S* a+ k* L# p6 M' @
  Here are some candies from England; take one on me. (one = candy)   ^' o0 \2 ^% q& ?2 K

) C- ?3 u: G3 w+ C& m" [9 j  The restaurant owner said to me, "Take the dessert on me." (餐馆老板对我说:“尝尝我的甜点吧!”)
; x& w: V9 R, l: ?2 X
1 S: ]( w: v' D8 p  G' R  Please take these pencils on me.(取用一些我的铅笔吧!) $ o0 l/ `! _, p; |, F, A
, I+ b0 p5 i' a5 E
! m! \  f8 c* O$ M: q3 Q. s

" `/ f. K; B+ J- b! {  (假如夫妇在一起,也可以说:Take it on us.)
5 f# ^. L! x+ m& G# V' o, W. w) v2 B1 b/ s+ d' f. g
  4. I am from Missouri.
: h( V7 y3 q$ F# I) Y/ {, _( @  P; }7 x$ e  {* c$ J
  这句话有时后面要加一句:“I need to be shown.”或“You have got to show me.”,意思是 Missouri 州的人很固执 (stubborn),不太信任别人,一定要人家证明一下(prove it to me),所以密苏里州也被称为“The Show Me State”。
8 d- v" r4 \5 S4 o+ Q3 D9 n1 A
_- ^! i$ A8 M7 ^
0 i  @2 @; J6 Q/ y6 _! P
  He is not easily convinced because he is from Missouri.
$ q' V4 ], V- R* M: F$ D  s& i2 f
) I2 k; P& g0 Z5 ]. y4 y/ @  Don''t try to fool me; I am from Missouri.(You have got to show me.)
2 Q9 O0 v* l& ]" d. `/ v7 k( g" y/ L; @+ q3 q; I, b; W$ n- w& f, C  O
  We are all from Missouri; we need to be shown. + ?2 H* r, F4 z. k
- c2 S. y! j5 o) K1 O
  As Mr. Smith is a tough guy; he must be from Missouri. (Smith
