Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor

1 t& a; H- Z; I5 qLocation: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

Responsibilities and Tasks
/ f! n: a8 U( i
' B8 M3 u5 V) R( c& P' D-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
2 E# Q9 g. K( B, w* f8 p3 y7 f% a-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
) ~1 l' R3 X5 p3 G-        Select type and size of pipe required
-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system

/ t1 w' m% `+ n2 w% f! Q-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

Required Qualifications
9 \( H( f4 H' k; |/ ]% Z% T. a
5 f& i; {6 L) k$ q  I+ s! G; s-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
/ P! |! p. F' y2 ~& z-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
7 N6 q" F7 @* Q7 }  p8 u/ y0 `6 t; @% h-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
3 Z3 N+ N! R1 {2 X7 k3 Z! f7 y-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
9 p! Y* b: m+ s-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
