Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor

8 [2 [( V/ m# b6 yLocation: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

1 S8 q3 k- i, M8 y' D& ^: fResponsibilities and Tasks

3 ?9 m9 S' V! p" U% ^/ `-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
( x* k7 q, q% [-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
1 n) z/ J( R* D! `# n" W9 S- r: c-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
5 F$ g6 W) ?/ \0 x3 w  P-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
/ I+ A# K% k' ]* k+ \" m( D-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system

-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

* K; }9 _. u5 K; H, D: [-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
$ h- ]/ C8 r1 {+ g$ X; b: M+ X' U-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
7 I  d  d+ y5 p) M-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
# C# F1 W+ K, L/ E, Z- G-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
