Job Description

Title: Pipefitter

Department: Fabrication Shop       

Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor

- m- z3 Z0 U5 v/ T1 hLocation: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

Responsibilities and Tasks

! W1 B. P( Y/ K' l-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
3 Z( x9 ^2 S% s! Y9 c-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
( g, K" p; k7 @3 V-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
& [+ d3 n/ P' A/ L& H-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
: A3 V+ f7 V; J& r-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
& E/ N% J/ ?2 e! {, P% T9 c# D9 D-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
# b! D1 X6 o+ \3 \' P5 ~-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

( A7 {& j3 }7 a% f: b" h-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
. \% ]) I, a7 }( h& Z* i-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
8 X5 w$ @5 m' a% Z" o-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
* ?0 ^' ?' Q) C7 a8 R6 k-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
1 S, u2 D  f) V* h-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
