Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

) \# D& t1 v6 K) BTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. : B, \ ?) D& |' z1 j
7 w( U2 V# f$ k4 K/ [4 v1 a( x3 qThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)- R' o: {( C/ ^" }( n3 [' g; F3 C
0 x' @. U' j$ U0 pAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
( N7 Q- S+ s9 ^7 H7 T1 M• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;. y8 @$ x4 u; c. P" t; r. X
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;- v4 ^0 T' g7 |' S
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;7 |% h( j0 z% ] C- c
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; ( q+ e* l3 S7 i2 J! p* Z7 i
• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: - M4 u* Q# K5 v* I/ u) ~7 ~
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;* E4 ~) M6 j# w0 f2 f
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
. B( j: \6 w3 L• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;1 \0 ^+ O; V( ?3 ?/ Z3 z
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
6 Q: a- y+ d; ~: M* Z# K( Y: e! }• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
' o5 t* o9 n$ Q4 P* G8 v* ^0 S5 D- U• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;" f# _5 j1 M: \2 z+ C1 z
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
6 D/ ]0 v& F# I% K( V% g• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
* P& I% x5 v6 d! I' v• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
J7 S2 a7 g% S2 L" u• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;9 M: u9 P* {/ r: w
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; : x: n; n) X2 h
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
' S4 _6 }1 B" ~5 |• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
) z# j4 y% A: F( A2 k% q/ f• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
: u) J5 d* g8 |; ?% u• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
/ }: w% O2 T* H4 b9 }& R• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
9 _$ v& `8 W. K$ b8 z6 l# x0 d• Current valid drivers license;
( k# P) f7 R+ z# @7 _6 y( ~0 v• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;$ u) J! K, E; W' K, o1 {- ?: ^
• Conflict resolution skills;

• Committed and passionate about children;
