To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. [) [" u$ M! A ?/ _

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)9 O* X8 v" z- K: L0 \: q9 E

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:7 l) c8 U" y. e' a' N0 m$ ]/ v. `
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
8 @" e6 n3 _! ]. w• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
. e* j' {; w& S3 B- r7 |( x G7 u• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
$ N+ Q0 e- H: C; p• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 6 J. D5 s3 z; f8 H
• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
9 {1 Y& T# n# |) u/ s' Q• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
# b9 L& |; ^$ e& g& g5 l; r& w• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;* z# P; F0 R7 o
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
3 j% o; L8 Z: y& F: o( E• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
, _1 [$ [9 C/ B+ P. |3 B• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
% X% a0 y0 x E% e9 G• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
5 I8 f$ a/ x& d• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
5 O/ a& T! @% E; q• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

8 h* N' \) i2 L0 K' i% ?• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
& n) ^) i% F* g: ~) `• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;* v8 e+ {: J& h$ r7 x1 \
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
% e. E/ ^* c* u+ u8 o/ q9 ]8 X! y• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;/ S' g4 i+ D. x- o; E
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
# N3 L5 Z" w( w, W/ n• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
- h/ |7 a& |. X8 k/ U• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred; f' g! F' r5 Z, g& r
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
+ {6 N6 L7 u, n d9 h# L• Current valid drivers license;2 Z# e2 G9 ~0 ^
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
8 _9 a3 D2 e+ M& M; G• Conflict resolution skills;$ e* u. K" S7 `# v Z4 m8 }
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;) l" Q" a* x$ G; R t- X
• Committed and passionate about children;
