To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

8 I; H4 O8 Z  n! R% @Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
+ I/ A# X( P3 G2 K2 P•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
% \8 E) F- K2 I5 J/ t# }3 R- {+ ^•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
•        Risk Management and succession planning;

6 K& t! Q. ~7 U! a) p8 K( S. }8 N/ mProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:  
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
4 x1 |3 L% `2 U. L, [1 ^# `•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
& m$ p9 `3 ^% q( n0 _•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
- W( F+ \; X8 B) ^) B1 c3 {- f1 A•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
3 a1 x) ^7 L7 u0 Y4 K$ h' m) |•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
  i' t3 C; j2 ~- `& O% T•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
. Q  `% t6 n5 k. h8 e•        Current valid drivers license;
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
; q, w) u. c# p2 r. l•        Conflict resolution skills;
•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
