To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. $ g2 ^* W( y4 C
7 u; d \6 q# j' UThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)8 X7 d( G: o. r# S: D1 k) h% }/ _

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
# V: l- @+ q* x+ P3 B• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
# J3 @( H D" p8 D• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
& n, T( o X0 O/ Y/ l( L9 ~• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
# |8 y4 Y, H' L. k8 Q. f) n9 D• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; / q3 P1 D2 g$ e; z) ?
• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: ) Q& M" x/ ^+ E+ S \( w
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;' f9 _- I8 p5 b! ^) s5 K) H
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;* F4 H' P" `. t# m/ z6 S" o
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
3 N: M& o6 _" q0 i5 h) o" _9 b6 w: d• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities+ `; @* x* q3 p" |
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;- X6 U8 Q* N K' r
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;! H) N- ~6 {# A* B2 p5 N8 p
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;% T: h8 }8 l3 n* p7 \; {, R# o; r" C- ^
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;" j% A& q, q2 P- B; R7 j( F

% ?0 f8 o+ K8 {9 V: @• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
. {0 h: z) u1 | n; g: ^: o• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector; o5 i& d- h! \9 N j- d
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
5 G2 c$ b( T: t/ P7 f; c# F• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;! r' ]( G* k2 H! x
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
+ J2 i# _7 _% n& N2 b, ?! q# X• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
# U, I5 `( }% k* `3 Y3 w6 Q• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
/ h b8 n; Z4 l8 y" O, @, [; L; i• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;- H4 V" d: Y8 v
• Current valid drivers license;9 ?& {8 j& R/ J( J& z7 U. Y: v8 ]: J# F
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
/ L' H3 N/ X# z+ ]' l* H" E• Conflict resolution skills;
& @ o1 p/ P5 E$ w/ H3 U o• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
