Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities- Z0 c$ l! J( \8 E
- submit information for community news
' o# L1 B; `- G' z$ A" ~( c3 b- provide volunteers to update membership database3 f" q. j3 N7 Z
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers! b3 H8 j W$ ~3 Q
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
- {- V/ Q/ ?% i! P! |4 g+ S- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
) P; z. P% p4 I7 N b5 `, v- provide volunteers for various programs 8 E# W, K+ s. v K7 P" a: ~+ o3 _
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual j8 A4 z# v* i; a' R2 u
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation/ m. X$ y* P2 P5 m2 E
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
8 i# @5 |8 d4 ]6 W. X( G3 c3 j$ d- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services% E2 ~$ u# h7 p" [$ f
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
: s5 S- j+ w' W& H/ |, \' F* j- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed6 X( z- ?" A2 h- M! L" X
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
r; H$ G5 h8 f6 @; _) j- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
5 h6 p" b$ Y3 k- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 4 U0 u7 ~7 g V
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 4 H5 Y% ]6 v. e# ^5 R3 |! N
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers " I2 a4 ]+ C) F! `0 E9 O% b- q
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
& F! k9 H0 ?( K- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis * [. g7 _# t) K$ I) U
- evaluations - W7 N( C1 I9 g5 ?, h' N
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre* H# R) @! g* J3 p
6 [9 h" k0 `3 F2 s7 _; q' bQualifications
* R/ h n# `3 r- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
5 ]! P; s( Q% B Z% S( F3 q- good oral and written Chinese and English skills. P/ F# v! Y2 |" @) T' P# U+ O
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
0 }4 U, L7 d- K+ A5 ~* V5 |) ~- leadership skills
3 n& I" r& T; l- management and supervision skills
1 D! ^1 J4 D/ u7 N/ u- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
