Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news
; M! K' T2 [( ?3 ?. m) Q- provide volunteers to update membership database
1 g3 n' s3 @; M# r7 R) W- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers, x: E- A/ ?/ _1 ?( z" ~& C* O
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties# [7 K5 L$ _7 ?: t, A
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
2 p0 ?: S# S+ T, \( C& i- provide volunteers for various programs
$ G$ ?. S/ C" t: r5 i3 I' U- A& F, N- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
9 ~* U2 l/ b3 _3 I5 H- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation) f+ H9 P' R" Z' @! @: q
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities* M5 G. z: P4 b6 l8 }
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
$ J; t( w" G P+ H' `# G- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
" i$ u6 j; K" [- g; c8 `4 L ]- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
" d1 n" T ?9 F( X7 K* b$ C- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
9 i a B) D+ K! T# I2 Z- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)! e; e) t" L) X" P
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 1 ^, f, o/ g0 T3 y1 `
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
( v+ A( y" t- v- k/ v7 }% A; l- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
/ p" P6 s# H& M) q0 b9 q( V- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
+ H! }* M# Q! }; s0 I- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

! V" @5 Y( I F+ A& {, \- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre: y0 _- G3 O5 C0 \9 W

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education- R: }! N1 e9 A' W( x% O5 x2 F
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills' b) }/ ?! M( h8 k9 Q' k4 D$ g
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
& M+ u8 F% I; Z- leadership skills
- c$ ?' d- F# P- management and supervision skills
