Key Responsibilities
Y0 R. X- f5 Y4 a- submit information for community news + l: d7 u4 j* J( N0 ]- D* F
- provide volunteers to update membership database( j; f3 N9 r( e! t9 W
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
\/ S& A% B3 M- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties1 A- ~1 m# H0 J9 ^) N
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties w* M. Q) J" n
- provide volunteers for various programs ! W0 R p, w' _4 B7 Z7 y3 Y
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual! q/ m2 c+ r9 I" v$ E! \
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation* K" j5 d' e8 r% x
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities! d/ e2 M0 v4 ~: X$ D \
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services3 \. R S" M2 w; s: {1 a1 I2 C a1 ~
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports: a+ S; V# p6 n) @4 L6 F' x
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
/ D1 {. I, C1 v9 X' g3 [- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed" S7 n) V! P8 E" x0 E, F
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
. d# D: ~( I* C- [* l% ^- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events . `, Z! N: \6 ^5 I, b* Z2 ]' F
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
- ?1 u! _$ [3 N- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers " J+ M2 T: ]* Y' t4 n. h: }
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 2 {! A) O8 A f; q$ q7 Q
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
- T/ a( I& }8 F) T& ~ b7 }& X- evaluations

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
" ~1 L$ l0 ~; y1 T" w: Z- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
6 ^6 q' ?! M% U# R, K- u* z- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services3 ^$ V j: l2 `. C: N0 l( D
- leadership skills
