Key Responsibilities

2 d! U9 ?5 F8 P ^2 H, A5 V- provide volunteers to update membership database
+ P. ^' M7 C: s0 F& ^, g+ |- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers8 F8 u4 q0 V+ h* D! L
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
, u! w# [, M5 G/ r i8 [+ j4 q- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
: D' T9 t, ?4 \1 a8 H' S- provide volunteers for various programs
9 j* R/ B+ ]' J! Q' S) D }) o- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
% Z# N6 g" T+ I6 d7 M- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
& X. }; w0 j( R3 P) ^- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities$ Y9 C! T9 j& U& W7 `# |2 d2 H' P1 t
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services3 E& j+ }* B) [- S
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
7 K0 {8 w+ x3 O* ?! N- C: b- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed; S% E( @& P9 S$ Z
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed/ ]9 Q! y+ g# b0 M% R7 A
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)+ D. m8 B" ~0 p0 U
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
! l# G2 g) R6 P& f' H% V% q6 q- development and distribution of a volunteer manual - {9 V% y6 ?* X8 }; `& t
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
, D' G. [/ O! x' K1 _0 q" `# ~& }- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
5 H2 e0 _" A6 d p. @; X- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

3 `, ^4 F% y& A8 x! DQualifications! z' V+ Y0 n0 H) @5 w
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education, r6 \. ^/ l7 B! x! Z0 h7 U6 e
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
: c/ {9 f3 E0 X2 N6 u {- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services3 V; Y" E4 p% O8 e- L: @
- leadership skills

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills; b- V% K% @: W/ `2 w
