Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
. G& `2 a6 ~* |2 y9 L/ C- submit information for community news
, E) c4 Z0 c m, u0 D3 Z- provide volunteers to update membership database
% k9 b) i3 k3 ]- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
4 O, n8 P% x) M- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
; W }# G- Y7 t5 y* z8 K9 a ]- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
+ `: T% M, f" u2 [- provide volunteers for various programs " G1 g* b+ G' p1 l2 Z
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual, w9 ^: ? A, P* Y/ o0 e. |3 H
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
2 {$ w) O8 @' ~8 H: Q6 V- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities M! C! M) x& L p" c( F9 |+ w
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services/ `2 p5 c" Y4 r k$ H
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
7 Y, o) c/ I1 v7 t- V6 Z' n$ b- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
+ d( i; g, _4 c+ E' B; c9 J- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
) T) n8 h {3 }- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)5 |7 d$ M- Q1 ^! E# z
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events

- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers % S7 r# Z1 K7 h0 i& ^. W) p
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
0 a5 t- Y$ _$ E# P: x0 l7 E0 B4 |- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis ! L/ \* t( `9 r7 x7 v3 P6 H

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications+ {3 x, q W. N( w2 j7 P
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
4 i! `8 l0 E# k3 v6 Y- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
% d j2 `8 V* [3 W- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services) u# F; K/ e; T* |; ~) L% P
- leadership skills
