Position Summary: % z1 y% ]' k6 t7 v/ z
Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
! X% f6 T0 r: D3 ~• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
+ ?- O8 }' U3 U% c7 {" z" k0 ^• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately) C" q& N( E- ]% v8 {- s7 c, Q
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter5 h0 w, J+ l7 |0 E5 e2 q" s
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
" A5 `5 D! O- [) I3 u* K: T• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker4 ?% H% r! ]& _# U! @: ]
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events9 h [" N6 G4 H* S2 D
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events! S# L6 m. A! m2 [
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean1 |2 A! N, I) G$ z
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters3 g6 Z% C; B, J2 ]+ W* Y3 g1 v2 H
• Maintain front counter service files5 j$ L8 n4 u: m" P& S
• Perform general office duties as assigned( K9 @2 F5 `5 v
• Report to ISP Program Manager5 X4 f; c& y" J* ~7 P
7 ^' G) U; t9 U( ^, I5 K( X( sKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
$ a! N1 c% X& `9 W# l6 ~5 O$ _• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
7 }& d3 t% Z9 J- O+ o' B• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
2 ?% r% a6 _5 v) n• Good English writing and oral communication skills7 b$ U! J2 Q' x' d2 M
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
; k7 M& D5 m4 T. s) ^5 L7 n |3 T• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook- l# N1 X" e5 \$ A6 a4 h0 E( f
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
* m# o" U- a( |1 R* C8 s• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• Knowledge of immigrant services n' i5 O3 a+ I/ z

Qualifications:
& ~7 w a2 B1 V. G• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
) {0 U( B; k6 k, s1 U3 `& @% W0 b• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment/ g) N) D4 b6 o$ C. J0 L
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
) {/ b) a7 d% q. t/ B+ P- G$ n• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
