Job Description: M( X: F; w9 L) i( b
• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
% m7 M( B6 g& q9 l• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
' L- @6 E0 Q: }6 J" k• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
6 h- G4 j% _) x9 S. F6 C• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
( m& F" q& a3 d" j5 n; j' W• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place4 Z" H* V5 c. a5 ]' ^; q; t$ ?7 G
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
. H- {5 M7 N: n" ^$ |( u9 s% `; j• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
+ r8 e. K; ~# h+ P6 K• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
: {+ o8 z+ b* @! k- @4 V• Mix paint, blend and match colors
0 B7 H: k3 s7 V) p• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns- d+ I- B t& m$ V+ B( G
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
* K* g* H( a& Q% O+ o2 | I• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation+ I; k! C5 }; X3 _
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

9 w7 O; `4 [8 ]( i5 Y+ d• Completion of secondary school is required

or
& e: l( T% x& Q! z3 ?A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
( t% _4 Z+ X( O, v7 x• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
