, A' n% z1 W( Y0 L9 [• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed* P$ w' |. G% c* }
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components3 \) {+ e7 k7 O) s6 v1 d' B2 J
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
( H5 O9 P. `; f1 g5 {4 o7 ]/ V; J• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
5 n( Z6 C' Q6 k9 y, J/ U• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
4 R* N+ N! M5 A# x• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
7 @" E" h) p2 O• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools1 A- r3 |2 t4 ]4 q
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting; f4 B! J9 C+ r% O8 ]. s1 N* i
• Mix paint, blend and match colors9 W, k# ?/ }+ S: ?2 F' q
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
$ C/ W) b4 f3 l; I O: }# A: R3 U: I( m• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs

• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling! I* I6 h5 O7 z; E7 m2 m
Education and Experience Requirements:

• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program 2 l& x0 r5 w6 n1 s& d
or
5 K% P( F" K2 p( _8 FA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade , r4 n) n9 j) J7 W- }* r# ^( {
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
