" d2 F% f5 A7 ?* e• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
( P' |% g# q( Q' \• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components. D, m% s( ?# a" H
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers- h9 l2 e) A5 I. b
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
8 i) r3 i8 s( o0 W$ u! `, V• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
) U' [5 J1 p2 d3 A1 E/ S• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
0 P) k5 O5 W/ g/ |; ~7 X- o4 @• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
' S: A7 f6 d' X0 a) m& r" v• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting6 {2 J% j+ N" [$ B
• Mix paint, blend and match colors
/ J$ f) F4 c* A9 y7 K& Q% J1 @• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
& }7 @2 }; ^. I5 g7 l* b; |• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs4 V# J' l( M5 z* O# V0 s& B
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation" a" {' T5 N |
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of secondary school is required
" L4 y7 M1 }) b* C/ a( Z• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program 6 \' B# r2 j* i
or
% h$ V$ t0 ]* Z+ g( RA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade 9 a) p( [, S# d7 G0 M$ t
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory 1 \8 f1 Z) }% M
