Job Description:$ A" L, s7 F; Q' `# ~1 W
• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
" y' b w; X2 q. t% m% U3 T• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
! ^/ M+ L' z6 p1 R- h' C: j• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers" o t$ _0 p9 d' Q
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams( Q( |4 v( }0 ^) A5 Y: i
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place9 \5 t/ K* ~& K# w2 g! u# T
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
3 o! d5 b5 r7 O* W• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools$ M4 Y1 L3 u! c9 m; G$ b
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting; R) M" T! a1 p) {' \2 N
• Mix paint, blend and match colors; q* s& F3 v/ F0 M
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
7 h0 k0 F/ [% k• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
" @' u5 k$ @/ v* f• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation

Education and Experience Requirements:- R% g0 n2 \4 o" _' m
• Completion of secondary school is required
; c' ^: ?! A. J& q G8 B• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program 4 R; F' J( ?' C0 _3 r
or' _1 w$ Y$ z* a8 d2 h
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
# ~( Q) p+ s7 Y' n• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
