Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person' s7 s, J, Z/ @: R) T
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST0 _' }8 V9 `2 s- V) v7 a8 P
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
2 a* }* a9 p/ r/ h7 T! C6 `7 u" x• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
4 G! G4 x1 `* ^2 I$ e• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings. @/ A t4 j7 @; c o3 D7 e
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
# D2 M4 q4 E% Y7 z* e7 @7 R• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
/ S4 d, Z* Y! M" z. F3 X• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
. h! j+ G, P' r4 T* r• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
& N9 r) n9 s' x2 @• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
. I- F! p, {3 `1 A9 A& V# B• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
" d9 V9 t7 S) ]9 p" z. d% G• Maintain front counter service files, l4 q9 F6 F5 t+ w
• Perform general office duties as assigned! }; k( k) A0 X2 n

* a G7 y4 Z8 n. J8 l, AKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:% p+ Y, Y X/ ~# T
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
% Y! c( d; [7 k9 e7 F1 ?; p- c6 _! W• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset! ]+ u9 V; s9 ]5 M& Q# _6 t
• Good English writing and oral communication skills' M! k! `- m& f
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
0 s4 O; O1 m+ g! W9 z$ s• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook7 }1 [" t/ X0 v( F) W6 ?1 m/ O
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately 4 f" N# W8 ^" E; ]' T
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds& a% \9 s; a3 c$ I) F
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment' T4 A- n% R$ U2 g
• Knowledge of immigrant services

& k0 ]2 }7 O4 ^& q6 V( v/ y: l• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
5 Q& [4 A! \* h. B- M3 ^9 t5 Z• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
' l( J5 }& r5 }% a' N. _2 I! [• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
