YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
( \* T$ m$ N2 B0 P: }/ M• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll+ p( \3 F, D2 ?% @
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records 9 I* F* M. m1 t) v+ b/ Z, ^
• Input benefit deductions into payroll/ h& V( P5 A) ?4 H- X# A1 O
* V6 F- [5 H3 V- J2 @
Reporting duties:9 n. T0 B, N! _ c) Q$ ~
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
4 Y$ x; s2 T" [, w. A• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
6 i/ A$ R) C) Y1 G( `+ E1 P• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s! O9 B# d$ r( C& m9 P/ O5 S g
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority+ y" L |$ `0 @) I: l
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations# ^5 A3 M+ {0 a) i) f
' f' p5 k+ p, F5 y# o& g9 m3 ZCompliance:1 o* u; s; j8 S8 V4 \+ Y
• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll 3 m" p8 Q+ I, Q: H% x
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.5 \ Y* |6 S% B R
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
; D! w* V3 R2 w• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit; ]0 Y- w. v1 K# w L* D
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department( E; u6 Q+ {: x" C, o/ ?3 r* n7 ?2 |
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments

Qualifications:
0 g" f9 c5 j. I1 R D1 r/ y2 x( z7 }5 Y
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP4 \1 E0 a! Y4 @9 P
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association7 D8 \) m9 T! I
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position. B. @" q% U; P* [: J, r' s8 `- w
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
; c- S- G0 g/ }• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work( v$ v$ L$ l# V
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure" z* \- s5 f9 S, N
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
