YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. ' M3 O+ T7 k1 O; ]; v7 ^6 V
Job Responsibilities:

• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
7 f" z- x5 L: o9 J& V7 P4 ?• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
5 K# C" W% e0 y• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
& t, B7 b' q4 k5 X5 f5 c6 G/ i% J• Input benefit deductions into payroll6 F1 R1 }' e% a& H' x$ j
, c# L4 N" q- {9 X3 A2 ?' eReporting duties:/ z/ n) k* h9 e
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
/ p& `' q, M$ y! `• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website' m: Z. r+ q& y" w* B* D6 m: d
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
. E! c/ {0 P' c8 w) u• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority6 A/ `% A, w$ S
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations$ h( R4 b+ ^6 B( r3 J( w# t
' h( F/ z) ]. j& j2 Q+ r! e+ O' jCompliance:
. ^$ I' j( D! F, n/ t9 A• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
$ D9 V# g6 s: C5 D& F1 E• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.* B& x" W( Y9 R" N& T/ i, E
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies' p8 }! z8 H: |3 l6 q+ D5 L
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting0 H% h5 }3 N! I8 O6 a
4 R$ C" B5 V; H, d, O& f, ~Accounts Receivable:9 l2 e4 ]2 u/ p$ v1 L3 [0 O0 e
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
- r4 ], r! A1 G" b• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
+ G& r, ~' v' A• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
6 X; C8 g8 _: X+ n• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing+ {9 e9 O0 a# n- N' [) L, u3 l
9 \3 a U8 S9 S: [: sQualifications:% U, I6 m- q" @) L. ^, [! | g

• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP8 s) a$ Z& a) V: y( s( O9 b
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
& h( g4 I; |: ?% \1 u! t: r• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
3 D$ O: l1 W/ L, w+ L3 S% Y! T• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office! f4 f. L. m1 h6 o i1 U
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work4 m4 H6 q& M) S3 I
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
