- H) H3 p: Z1 B9 J4 C• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
# ]; ^9 r: C* |! y• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
# p+ F$ c- Q. g/ u% Z3 C• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records $ U- M- m; z) C9 z, d
• Input benefit deductions into payroll

Reporting duties:# ?$ f6 N: i' Q0 S$ z
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider1 X( b; [9 ]9 ~% E" h% r
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
* Y) o- D7 j' T6 y0 F' x* J1 C O' @• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
1 n& F3 c! O8 B5 O: ?• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority- G9 Y% z, i5 ^% O
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations8 g4 r- X( b3 r" x" N

Compliance:
- d( n' f3 z- N( t% C& G• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
& F) i& _2 ?7 q3 G' O• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
+ |, ~5 Z8 [3 u, l, E: I• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies+ P7 ]* t& o O& J% H9 d, `
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting6 h) }$ h" P, X6 q# L5 x8 ~0 |

Accounts Receivable:
3 N) ^" I% }- U! D, e; y. s• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
8 g+ N" g; i5 d; h& B• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department5 X! c, y. N8 H0 u: _+ I5 M
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
3 e! C2 p- O( p! _9 _• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:5 g! O. Z7 l S" l6 k
/ M* K" r5 U8 h9 \3 W• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
/ k5 v% ^$ @" y# v( {$ [• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association! B+ D8 D7 L: ?' g- K( D
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
9 g, d$ R5 [9 L/ `% j• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
; R7 f" r0 W, Y1 @" Y8 D. K/ c• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work+ P3 B+ T0 Y* l; O7 ^
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure0 r# y" D. G/ p. s; D1 _. r+ z
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures2 K# c$ l- {% u% D. m% ]5 l
