T.A.N.G. Youth Program is an educational and activity-based program aiming to equip

7 O! I! S5 o4 U. q7 m/ Popportunities, leadership training, as well as educational sessions on

and Canadian-Asian culture are some of the ways in which this goal is achieved.+ k! f$ k/ V# A( s# I1 \

Each session presents concepts through interactive activities that encourage active discussion and participation.

These activities will enable youth to:

: n2 c, s- `: S) j+ iRegular Spring and Fall Group Sessions: runs on alternate Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.6 n K5 k5 ^; J) O1 Z
Summer Group Sessions: 2 consecutive weeks in July from 9 to 5 p.m. daily1 K7 {& j5 Y }: H: B/ E* q4 [
2 consecutive weeks in August from 9 to 5 p.m. daily) Z% K: }/ g( N3 u, F% D# X

Asian youth aged 11 to 15, who are new immigrants or locally born Asian living in Edmonton or surrounding area.* N- ], Z7 U, s, j
, W8 Y6 ~1 T5 M* ^; |What is the cost of joining the T.A.N.G. program?
* T* B( b0 s; E2 e3 I. eIt is FREE and space is limited to 15 to 20 participants per group.

Volunteer’s Duties:% {# w0 ]! n( S: O6 C
9 \9 D. ]" \# N2 g- g7 O3 c& V j
 Distribute promotional flyers to schools, churches, communities and social services agencies 0 f c. A3 G4 [
 Facilitate and/or coordinate activity-based function such as to host a gym day or sport tournaments or workshop on personal growth development 0 w. K7 r6 v5 l. y( o: F- m% ~( J
 Facilitate or assist in ice-breakers and/or other activities
/ t/ c9 |0 q! h- \3 n4 z) ?/ e5 X Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
9 [$ |0 d7 r- b: @; |+ w Research activities related to the sessions’ topic
* ~) Q, ] R3 R) I' D Enforce safety rules during program sessions and fieldtrips; _# z; b+ L/ u2 d! ?) G! f0 b
 Assist in program planning

Volunteer Commitment:- h+ g$ U& f4 Y7 g! t

 On-going volunteers (we have volunteers dedicated themselves to the program for almost 4 years)
) z9 n4 {5 O( b' E3 c One time volunteers: minimum commitment is one seasonal session, i.e. 8 – 10 sessions in Spring, Fall or Summer

 Able to work independently with minimum supervision
