1. It's cool:cool
(可指人或事物)也就是 something good or acceptable;situation is under control;being calm, gentle, courteous or good-looking;meet teen's standard.
  L% w6 r! l1 l6 H$ D% K4 h2 |+ q
7 _  U; M  E0 t- s4 F6 Y That's cool;he is cool;this is cool.
: a" i8 _# I$ y1 u. G8 Z8 P# ^! V7 B! [3 W' q1 L- Y4 k4 y) \( v6 y# W
  Skydiving (或surfing) is cool.(跳伞或冲浪运动很不错)
+ k9 I6 \# ]) M4 Y' q" [* B
1 u) e: O$ h( L- e5 a 主词可用任何人称的单复数 (I, we, they 等),动词可用 verb to be 的任何时态 (is, was, were, will be, have been等)。因此,也可以说:/ U# Q8 F: `6 d6 i, Q5 u* Z

' u8 F4 y0 `; G; J$ a9 Z, |  She (He) was cool in the past.% `1 R, r" o& f8 M/ }
) T7 x6 C  r6 R/ ^7 c1 O8 Z  M
  That's a cool T-shirt.(好看的运动衫)
/ D+ i% N) ^% b! w& A$ f8 r6 _! E: M2 q, t6 R" h4 O. y: }5 V% n
He (she) is a cool person.(文雅礼貌的人)
. _& Q9 V. P' D' e2 J! ]
" a  v1 O* I" U. ?( O# L# V 但是如果说:Are you cool?
2 Y- f. \" Q0 S/ b1 Q3 I6 x' h4 \
She looks as cool as a cucumber. 又是恭维语,是说她很 calm and charming; not
. j$ v; A9 y* _7 W% ^
' s* Z# }/ g! A' m emotional.
: _/ ]) A7 I( {' O( m
; C/ w1 [; A& r7 z (注:许多华人把 cool 译成「很酷」)" f8 Q4 E3 G. j2 w: x" k

6 [4 B- Q0 ~$ m 2. Are you trippin'?:trippin' 这个字,是由动词 trip 演变而来。 这个字是现在分词当形容词用,是指行为异乎寻常,也许受到吸毒或喝酒的影响,而显得神魂颠倒、奇形怪状(to get high on drug such as LSD),也就是说:要不是受到药、酒的影响,你为什 显得这样古怪呢?(Are you under any influence of drug or alcoholic? Why are you so crazy and bizarre?)
* i1 v0 ~5 R; W, f* n: a# G/ p. H
  They are trippin'. (= tripping)0 _* O8 ]0 m, ~+ ?% }0 W1 F; l

& a* X8 c1 R$ ]% \. r% |  Y# i She (he) is trippin'.
, K  G4 {! u* ?2 f' V/ c4 D
6 o  p' B- U; q5 ]* f, W& ?! x Mr. A must be trippin'.% `/ \7 a8 A. N7 A% m$ i2 ^

# L$ D7 U. E" @, h/ l' E
: w- Q2 W+ l4 L5 B- d' e$ x" ] 3. He is a nerd:nerd (A person always buries his nose in books, but not good at social situations.) (IQ = Intelligence Quotient ; EQ = Emotional Quotient) nerd 可用复数,动词也能用其他时态。
8 f/ G* @) g) i
He used to be a nerd in high school.
& G  [& `( i0 P; j! b! G- n! S9 o! c/ w  x; w. g( c
Many Chinese students are(或 have been)considered nerds.
! q' T; S* K3 D, ^( W7 a, T; \6 H" E, w  q* U
: o& |( i3 V/ F& D7 o9 W7 }4 V: [' ~
5 g1 z  n2 w6 Y* R. s% J He is a computer geek.
& O, c) h* i2 U- j' J. Q9 r
  I don't like him because he is a jerk.- L( I5 ~' Z; C

$ l( h4 o7 R: z) l3 }8 @) K2 E2 R2 |% c* A5 M
Many jerks are working in our company.
8 Y' ]) T7 W' ]$ C% K, C$ b
: ?: x, N' s7 M!

- U) g- D8 ]( t( H2 b) T. Q) [ They are jerks; He was a jerk in the past; Mr. A has been jerk for years.
  w2 r6 N8 e5 `# t3 r7 b$ Z+ m
  P& G$ Y# E# R) b; `! n( [: z (注:有时年轻人也用 dork 这个字,但不如 jerk 流行)! D! R: H, K2 }7 Z, L& S7 t, a! t

" q8 z! v8 |* u$ {0 P* J 4.

(He thinks she is pretty and attractive, so he wants to speak to her.),也就是找话题,想要「打开话匣」。(to use as a form of opening line or pick-up line or to begin a greeting; try to know her or date her) 如果说:. G; |5 {9 h4 g" f* o3 U

) }# x2 M. p, v0 ~2 C  L Yo baby, are you trippin'?
4 n8 l) `/ l5 u0 L4 `. F, R9 G7 A
7 |2 z* c* M# r* l5 e8 D
  O/ s0 e7 ~! F5 x" A0 U May I help you with something? I think I have met you somewhere before.8 X% v$ \( T0 a. O  q7 y

5 u# Q) N/ i8 C3 J! a0 ?6 T8 n, `+ i
! M! g" `7 S# }- [4 _: {6 ]2 y5 z' v9 I! f
Hey, hey, hey, what's going on?“what is going on?”就是年轻黑人打招呼的用语 (a form of greeting or open statement) 或 Hey, hey, hey, are you going to the movie?(帅哥,你是去看电影吗?)
/ m; ~  w2 ~+ N. n; ?9 u9 H! A6 R1 J7 L$ ^0 J9 Y
  5. Catch you later! (a form to say“good乡bye”) 也就是说:现在没有时间与你交谈,以後再谈吧!(I don't have time to talk with you now, but we can talk later.) catch 後面,也可用其他人称代名词(him, her, them 等)0 x8 i$ k0 X5 ~
. s+ Q! a( w* c
  有时年轻小伙子也用:I am off. I am leaving now; I'll talk to you again./ V6 o8 R  T) i4 M

' i/ F+ F# i- N/ R& n
