you should always remove the old top layer for a number of reasons.

end of roll usually have good deals on material and labour to install carpets. give them a call to see if they can swing you a deal. depand on the size of your room and the grade of the carpet you're looking for, I'm guessing you can get away with less than $750 all in. ; d: p2 \+ i" H6 ?
