Position: Outreach Worker

4 `) ?7 r c! z- W- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
& p: x! k6 {, y' V" g: E% I( }$ @- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.' m- J0 p& l$ V% C9 N- }9 [
- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP9 Y3 O* s' k6 g
- provide support to ISP staff9 H$ u$ l( M% M# v
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
8 F; z0 s% @2 Y6 f) b6 ^- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
8 z Z% o/ @" \5 t9 l! P# K- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated% N2 {* d8 Y. Q/ S) ~" ~- `
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants6 p1 ~! l0 |" |3 e
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals6 t+ J' i) ^( F
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder `! y0 b8 t6 B' f: F& g2 Y' A
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.9 i0 P3 H% h; d4 X
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities5 {: c5 S0 ]/ \2 }% [
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned1 B; F$ u# A1 Z6 h! j
- other duties as assigned ; q, I( ]6 r( f! y

Qualifications
8 J0 X5 }4 D8 F# B5 ~) d- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
# l$ Q& l# H/ h; }$ J' p( q- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available0 p8 }& a- q5 ]+ f; x
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers4 l- T) o, ]$ i7 C% j K
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software, U4 G. Y8 R& x, i5 U w$ y
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)2 ]* T/ c. Z8 Z$ D- W6 i3 {5 v8 O
- good interpersonal and people skills* W: H- e( T5 b4 [. O: J* \
- good organizational and coordination skills% [' Z% u8 H8 u& x
- valid driver’s license! C8 f+ W" L2 F+ s

Salary
