Employment Developer

 Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre., W# N$ A2 \; P
 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.
# J8 i- y7 b9 |, D9 m- B4 @+ I Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.+ l6 G+ \5 }, n7 E, G/ S
 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.
( Y+ V" D$ R& z6 ~' J0 e7 g6 u Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.7 ^# T0 j) B4 D1 U
 Update and maintain job boards.

Settlement Counsellor
% e  t* E3 f' _+ ` Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.
3 S9 y: u' f; ?) T' h Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.7 w. b( \! \4 f4 o' C6 l, w
 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.
6 ?5 ]0 h9 y9 c5 J4 N: d4 C, S Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers
! M1 z1 q7 O) b1 t Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
7 c  l) l& a. X6 e- Y; s; u& n Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.6 n8 b- x: |/ f. D- v
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.6 ^* m* d: @9 V2 \* x5 K+ ]
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.

 Represent Bredin Institute at meetings, conferences, seminars and other events

 Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.

* t3 d: S4 w: G1 q* d Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.8 u: Q2 J! a/ H0 N% U& e- @% d( I
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.; V" A" z& L  G: E2 G
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.; o7 A0 V  S. q0 u$ ], Z, ?
 Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.

 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment

& m6 E# E8 u, F1 `) Y8 e) g Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants

 Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion$ z7 \  a  b  ]3 b1 M
 Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator
