 Become aware, through employer contacts, of employment trends in the workplace.

Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer
" |8 A9 m2 N& n7 q. r Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.( e* Q6 I( k/ d) f# I
 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.
: r# [7 e+ `% a3 t6 `/ J Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.. [3 M2 f( q0 ]0 d! a6 a! C
 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.3 E+ e: O2 [1 v8 ]# y
 Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.

 Be required to work flexible hours, with some evening and occasional weekend work

 Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.
) @) K% s: X7 c9 R0 T# O Support newcomers participation in the settlement program., g! \: D4 z/ T& W4 ~5 N5 }
 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.& B2 w( V- j6 E* u, y
 Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers
: X! {' }/ {! l" ] Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
" Z. d( _: \8 O" h8 V3 N Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.
8 O  c9 X- g6 |7 u Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.
* C  j7 e) S$ K1 u0 P9 E Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.

 Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.
2 L6 q% n5 y4 ~5 I# ] Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.
) L# p9 I% L! p" w: {4 `" }* m Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.
7 J# A. p. |% {: Q9 I' X0 V Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.
& T9 j: ?4 P! M Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.
8 I$ N# E& ~/ f Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.
& u' M' l% Z8 R Create and update clients files on Mobius computer system

Service Manager
- Q3 U: t4 v2 ]6 I/ p) L2 o Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period
2 v7 \( b: V  o8 z- `" r4 ~& G Ensure participants’ progress is tracked and recorded
/ M! w( f7 m2 C- P% i Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan
5 P0 Z0 b# ~9 Q" P* I Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
" ^- h0 \; Z9 x& O; x0 u Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
: m/ M5 `0 W8 y( r/ n! F% E5 Q: d9 H Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants9 [' P3 x( ^/ X9 Q9 }
 Complete participant reviews with the participants
- V  z- B. C8 G: A: {" y$ E Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion+ @* q0 V2 r( [, l2 p( R
 Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator. f7 z$ i1 p; W2 s2 Y
 Update clients files on Mobius computer system
