Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer
8 L/ B; J5 n* S/ V$ E Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.
4 m' p! k. P2 @/ F Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.
/ ?$ ^, z6 z& c$ @ Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.$ ~1 P% y) Y% M* x$ l- o- t
 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.

Settlement Counsellor
, l6 `9 v  v! g1 v Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.

/ L2 r( A# x7 Y, W* D# ? Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.& D( @4 Y+ @: |
 Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.7 F4 @1 y: b3 `  Z) w( x
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.9 V4 K% A2 r( J) Z
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.

 Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.

 Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.) }) {2 T* G7 d+ F. j4 T' f, h
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.: r/ d6 S6 C0 t. Y
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.$ O( [! Z) w3 E$ D1 B! y1 [

 Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period, Q2 i: n6 \. O+ \
 Ensure participants’ progress is tracked and recorded
$ a6 ?# G; j5 T) V, H Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan
) [- D  U! h% y7 j Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
3 [, m2 k# V) V, d8 @4 | Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada) o* L& ]9 v, F% v0 w$ }/ w
 Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants9 S) [9 U/ i6 G& t# z5 w9 @
 Complete participant reviews with the participants
  t0 E7 w0 J2 M2 g+ ]4 F4 [ Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion
