Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer* T3 L/ U6 Z0 S! P+ ^/ S0 F) M5 Z
 Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.. B3 ^( ?9 Y4 ]' C
 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.
6 j: X6 T2 Z- e, \3 [  G* r Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.; V8 L7 I! v! C8 f! `
 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.
9 X, D4 C# t2 }5 H# v: V Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.
0 C& d1 h0 A4 @. a& N% W Update and maintain job boards.

$ `1 F5 ?8 S& @, ]6 t; \+ Y6 b Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.
% e$ V5 x: S9 P% z8 _ Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.
7 }) b% x9 D% U% h Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.
* B8 t+ g, _) M2 u. v Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers* S1 W6 N. g& g
 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
0 M8 ?7 a7 N  T9 Y" | Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.
- J/ ]; o5 k( f  G% y Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.6 b- N7 Y( e9 `5 c+ Y0 P
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.- P6 N, S" T% {" s
 Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.

Assessment Officer
4 r, ?$ m. J$ u. U( { Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.
: ?0 Y* m# s1 v+ u, _8 F; c Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.$ h1 h* Q4 s$ {; Y  I
 Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.& y/ c$ V9 O0 ^: d
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.
5 m4 s0 \3 j* Q Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.
. e, r3 k$ g( { Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.: |8 P; m/ o  {: _/ y0 Z
 Create and update clients files on Mobius computer system

 Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period

+ b: T/ |: I& y9 Q5 o; |- y) t Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan
; s  G* I/ ~  p Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
; K2 B8 U  K$ o0 Z, u, c Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada3 S3 a7 `# r6 J! R7 W
 Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants1 w9 ]/ }: o9 i4 I+ Y1 q
 Complete participant reviews with the participants
" Q( m" T3 p( ^1 B7 U) P7 q Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion: p$ t$ J: W* y- z1 |8 i# k
