Alberta College is governed by an independent Board of Governors

1903, Alberta College predates both the City of Edmonton and the
2 i, y. o2 `/ V- n7 \Province of Alberta. It was founded by concerned citizens as the 0 H3 A/ Q0 m5 j) t( `
first post-secondary school in the area, on land bequeathed by # ]6 L7 S. G2 K2 |1 x
pioneer George McDougall for educational purposes. The College : {4 ]3 d# A+ `+ Z5 q. @% P( U3 l3 K
initially had three departments: academics, commerce and music,

transfer to McGill University.
