For example, if you want to study Social Work at Grant MacEwan, you will need 70 related volunteer hours.4 j/ h7 ?6 |- T+ p, E$ c. q9 a4 V
However, it's really good to volunteer. You can get experiece, references, respect..., O/ ~1 e0 ~. ]! p# V/ k8 R

Yes, most of senior homes/centres have pianos! And they do need volunteers to play the music for them. I did few times even though I'm not good at it at all. 
If you need some volunteer information for your son, I'll be more than happy to tell you.
