Duties
7 F9 C& {& H: cDevelops and updates the graphic user interface including program interface (menus, dialogue boxes, file editing, etc.) using C++ or Java or other languages to allow users to compose run scripts and edit input files for a FORTRAN model8 s" Z; v1 ]1 K g6 ^$ G7 Z
Generates dynamic visualization of numerical output from the model using VTK or other visualization tools, linked to explanatory documents6 E1 G b5 w" ]1 T
Works with staff in the MACI to determine ways to deal with the data and find innovative approaches of presenting results7 G. W& }8 j( a7 F* A J
Implements interface and visualization on portable media (CD and website) for use in research and teaching; implements the mathematical model "ecosy" in parallel mode on computing facilities available. b. B9 \; T% p
Provides technical support to teaching initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using the mathematical model with the graphic user interface

Qualifications
: A) `1 m/ i! G3 f: zB.Sc. in Computing Science with specialization in interface development
8 I- E8 }4 _2 b+ q( gRelated experience with interface development; interest in terrestrial ecology and global climate change an asset% \& c, d9 g' z4 r3 c
Programming in C++ and Unix, website development and maintenance
