• supports foreign-educated engineer and engineering technologists, and

Alberta is home to many foreign-educated immigrant engineers. These

difficult to integrate into the Alberta workforce. Some employers may not

What is the practice?
9 V8 A! R: j9 t0 QIntegrated training offers a blend of occupation-related skills, a work3 G$ t7 H+ V5 r' K( J- ]5 ]& f
experience and competency-based training, such as applied academics or

• engineering-related training delivered at NAIT:

• ASET provides professional recognition of the qualifications of ETIP* q5 ~* {9 h$ l3 E5 O$ l5 p

What is the evidence of success?
& ^9 P( }8 N6 kAs of 2003, more than 80% of ETIP graduates over the past six years have+ ~" U; ?, H: q Z
found engineering or engineering technologist employment in Alberta.
% h3 {. W" V' e4 N. r7 e4 @In 2004, 46 engineers graduated from the ETIP program. At the time of. u3 k, \7 j& d% ]
graduation, almost half had secured employment in the engineering industry,4 [( G1 |" I5 M$ O" J% q% K& U( G
with over 90% employed at three months post-graduation.
