关于如何集资扩建爱民顿轻铁捷运系统的报告，定于本周送交市议会审议。上个月，联邦政府已拒绝支持爱城申办2017年世界博览会。据报道，该报告包含3个集资途径选择，其中两个选择将直接影响纳税人荷包。

据爱民顿市政府财务总监罗森（Lorna Rosen）表示，扩建轻铁计划目前尚欠10亿元资金。
2 c9 W6 v- J; A4 ]$ C3 S以上3个选择包括，动用全部来自省府的燃料税收入，但市府的道路维修经费就会相应减少；其次是引进额外0.5％的物业税，这预计可在7年内集资3,700万元；最后是调升公共交通车票价格0.25元，这预计每年可筹得600万元。
市议员索希（Amarjeet Sohi）表示，民意表明扩建轻铁不能再拖延。他说：「这是一个优先要处理的计划。市民需要这扩建系统，而我们必须做。」
另一位市议员吉本斯（Ed Gibbons）说，应采用全部3个集资选择，此举将是最佳的集资方法。
