 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
* ^/ o3 m2 A6 t  p Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
6 t8 N; C3 g: P Current RSW designation preferred   
' a) o" {% ]) T6 E" y6 Y% X- E. V Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
; {: r3 i& |% Y Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
9 Z3 G/ [+ E6 l& z Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
0 s' G1 L7 x1 M1 k; t$ e Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
9 L" a* L; d3 T. I  I Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
