Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
2 z5 [! A$ J$ Z5 Z7 @# F Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
, \/ z0 C8 N" q, [/ w: G0 O1 `% ~1 w Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
, J& h; |8 m$ B9 x& T4 D Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
9 C" F" |7 O' ]- F! m* b+ O Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
- t0 s4 _2 E4 E3 d! `4 Q. z; {* ] Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
9 G5 ?" Z# B: v' T0 _+ o Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
( t0 h8 F$ S; f; }6 n/ l& A0 f Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
