Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
/ f" U4 P  R4 n' {  M; X2 Z& @7 x Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
2 E4 m% S7 d6 m, z& i0 O' Z+ E6 Y# { Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
/ w, b. A7 |3 l6 A Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
% o3 W$ j2 x0 U Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
$ s! O+ @) E! A& ^% e# ` Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
; ]7 c- I: \( I9 W. F Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
  m# V& |& l1 |1 }7 @  q8 J6 o# L Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
( G' L9 B: X- `- H$ L0 f  P% t
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
! K+ B# G* F* O' Z. N Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
+ H9 w2 W; h9 v8 X Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
8 ?; ~1 |7 {3 i* s- Q7 @ Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

; J: v8 x( ?) _2 I6 G) D9 UThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
