Key Responsibilities & Duties:

( U7 v7 }3 o3 Y$ h Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.

 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.9 q l2 E- W+ b* \0 v1 j: _# g# S
 Completing required paperwork. m0 j! {$ R7 o, r6 P" m4 T7 N; [
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.8 G' G% _1 \, ~! \, O
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.- H6 g! W' S z* Z& ^
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. x$ d7 p8 Z# Y1 ]
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.# r; ~* D; D+ W+ _! b* M: O$ S/ a
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

: A! v/ N5 \" z& i+ c+ u Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.4 K$ ^0 z: x6 b! P
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills. b7 F: f+ @+ @1 O. R) `7 X
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.8 \2 ?% B2 R$ T$ {! q1 {4 ^
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
. D4 F+ t) ]) g+ f/ h( J' h Knowledge of community resources.* N# c9 a& T% h
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
* U" ~2 S; ^& L5 |8 v Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
% \: g7 y5 ]0 N) m/ J0 iThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
