Key Responsibilities & Duties:

" S; y, J. E0 N, ^4 ~8 O$ ^. }& Y Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
/ r9 R% g% Q6 r! R! m+ _ Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
  n1 f* O. g2 T! @. k Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
) f! o4 g" O5 C8 E6 J: u Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
; L( N9 x0 x0 o" ~9 P Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

3 c9 Z; ^5 k9 K7 }0 h6 P7 ~3 Q
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
* J/ r( v! U! y, s8 @ Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
! `/ u. ~( y3 N% p& `8 LThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
) J/ c1 V# S: a+ `' ystarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
