) _/ T& m& V! B# J5 oKey Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
0 j, C7 v/ E3 S4 `# ~) q. ~ Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
8 u+ p) s7 o/ j Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
* Y6 m, N- V! L Completing required paperwork.
# O$ r* g, n& y$ ]1 i4 I; S! \! a Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
7 C& Y$ j0 u. x0 D1 J Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

7 c' U) }$ _; v4 W" [
+ X! \% ~" F+ D; v Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
& [6 m( m0 v/ X& v Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
2 ]; z: P8 a1 z! G, }  P( n Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
" k, x# Z4 [' o1 ` Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
9 w- K2 T2 ?* T Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
