Key Responsibilities & Duties:
, \' O. G; O- ^* T) P1 I" ]
0 k% L0 N- v/ j' N Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
+ z4 _0 [" A' ?0 J Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
  @/ f' \, ?/ P+ [ Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
" n6 O! ^- W+ z Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

4 m( Y* s4 O5 }! q Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
  d1 I9 w7 @6 T  {, p Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
, d3 R9 i- l0 G" `! | Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
# `( @9 ?/ X) y9 _" M6 @. D Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

6 M" w9 G) n; T1 B) `& IThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
