Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

0 ?) i4 Y" y; _7 p+ r" a: W Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
. A# X: L4 e* C2 }% |$ N2 ]0 i Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
1 N/ t7 d: H! L( U  ?  E Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
$ F5 p8 H* k: D" z2 G Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

" h( E! q- M6 Z# I6 {% ~1 N9 {Qualifications:
- M* v0 h9 e% U/ l
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
) }' Q7 ~. f( I$ G0 T Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
$ `/ N) D3 d  O, Q1 g# qThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
4 ]) _9 g4 Y9 b1 g' i- Sstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
