Key Responsibilities & Duties:

" S; y, J. E0 N, ^4 ~8 O$ ^. }& Y Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
/ r9 R% g% Q6 r! R! m+ _ Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
n1 f* O. g2 T! @. k Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
) f! o4 g" O5 C8 E6 J: u Completing required paperwork.7 r$ d9 I( Q9 c [2 ], ~
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.1 ^2 @! e" t; n n
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures./ f& x" q' y* ~; t! Q* N$ E; q
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. , S; k+ a1 @6 o; _, w4 P
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.4 g5 K) p* V0 ]% d# Q d
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.5 l$ Z, d R2 Z2 e8 U
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
* J/ r( v! U! y, s8 @ Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.3 T% u4 g* a, h# N+ L' g5 y; z
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.! d d0 c2 u# J- u# N/ S) Q7 d
 Knowledge of community resources.# L9 H, O$ J0 N+ n O/ f3 R- E
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.$ g1 c# F* Y. {* G9 z2 T; Y
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
! `/ u. ~( y3 N% p& `8 LThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
) J/ c1 V# S: a+ `' ystarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
