The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

* `* O4 b; O' T* k& sJob Responsibilities:5 m- L5 o* ]9 J- s: W

& K7 C! p+ F$ g* `* SOPERATIONS
. x% _5 o' o7 ~+ ?$ E  D* f•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
' h6 ^! n4 S: S! E; h•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
- u! o& |7 M- T: O1 T% Q" n6 e2 A•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge- e. m2 l0 x6 N1 h4 V- |0 m% H8 r/ i
•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills., y( i" Q" j5 N: Q- z: i
•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
# G" a" m* x/ V. O' N* S•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.6 e( B+ o3 [( N2 Z' V
•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
  I) v! e9 `' e, w6 ?, [, z- _$ J4 f•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities7 k% ^' t. {* [- P" O8 x/ h2 t
•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

, d' L" \( I  t, _: m3 M•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO/ ]5 h6 @; h& C7 D  l. {$ F
•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

* T1 i5 B! B5 R; O/ rADMINISTRATION+ s9 z3 F$ i) k# R7 R/ J
•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position% w/ x/ `' h0 e1 ?+ G
•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
( _+ n( D, t7 e4 s! _" i•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate, }; {0 C' E+ C8 `- z
•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
# t1 O* P! l1 w, y' s/ S•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
$ w) w0 d/ e" a•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency, C8 {( M7 I, G: f
•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services7 F( [5 \: ]# P+ u
•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes
$ S& c% \- S9 q# X0 w. G•        Prepare a regular monthly program report; Q3 j) A7 H8 P5 A& j9 J1 D

•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
3 b+ h  Y9 N, w8 H  Y' J, ]& Z0 [•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required. G" H9 L2 l9 p5 d* p5 g* Z0 ^5 O

7 C" a4 r9 L- G, sINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
9 n/ `4 v# D  @3 O•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers& H8 F& [1 C5 z1 \7 e  {
•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta): Q: x$ G! Q4 E! o' c- D5 A
•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate : z& l. W! D( W( r+ p
•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required( {! }  h: f5 [, i

2 }+ M7 Q: r5 K; JQualifications:" e, v; ?4 l2 X8 G

; [! V0 \) V. \" w, k; Y) ~4 n" L•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination7 V( S. r# r& y  }. }
•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
1 t" U0 ^4 X, G7 e/ ~5 t•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills( X  U5 d# q  P9 ~5 I! m0 l& k& D
•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
4 h2 o& j9 U" e1 X. |* l; H•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure' ~5 Q. W/ r4 _$ A
•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects - w: z1 @" [# S
•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
& B0 ~. j7 @; L& i, i•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
