The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.2 T" ?+ G( v; ~" F

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

9 q2 Y$ @; N& B: \ A• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
- C6 O/ H9 {" c& L, e• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.- J8 t2 d2 k1 \$ G+ z9 Y( ~( g
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
) S# {5 ^) w6 v$ @• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
( s) Q! s5 A; e• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.# ]% O9 o$ ^1 f0 [% z
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
& `& F# {5 ?: _& `* I; S6 T) @• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
* D( x6 Z3 D& h, W• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
! W4 G3 x, V- `$ M& y• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO

ADMINISTRATION
U9 r5 F5 @* ^: j+ m- |1 Z" M5 O' f• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position' I- N$ @7 n/ d! ^0 o
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
7 _$ F' E, |( L6 K# R# [ L• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate9 C' R- J' H. D) H5 ]- }
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department& c$ t# \ P. h7 |/ R
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
& ^) W$ O. |7 u4 `• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
* ~4 F0 T; h- i& j1 d• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

FINANCE
+ g. f' z2 \" x% ? R• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
; S, G b1 ^( ?! }6 S• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

6 e6 y4 E! g" \3 g: q# g A) TINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS# J! [. C) G: d) i ]
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
1 x/ c' F+ O# j% {) i* z3 M+ N* u• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)# _; Q l5 q! j7 F: ]- ?/ k7 B
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
# M2 Q. Y$ j0 f1 b1 ]: |• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:
) R1 W+ r( I( o1 x0 i& B' ~: n+ X1 B6 R7 N. P
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
- V. P) W- @8 F) i3 O+ z• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability" n& I0 Y9 ]. n! I, F! x* T1 s
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills9 o# @' N5 v- U+ g9 W6 j
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills , t- ^& }( _* _, U. F3 {2 }' N
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
