The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA./ F4 M: k) C9 W4 v E

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.7 z3 n9 x5 ^- ?7 u

OPERATIONS
1 A+ \# m3 j+ a* w• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
8 w, L. ~# V* a- E+ Q2 Y" s• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.8 {1 f0 R. g' [1 r: _
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
' ?8 R! X( y1 Z• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.9 M' J1 @- p) _6 ]2 N& m- E) u
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
/ i* ]! n$ s- s• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.1 p& q9 B) }* T3 M
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.5 W: V, Z& N4 N8 F/ p( t
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
* L/ X) o) N, t5 E• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required Y8 Q5 ^6 D. Y, Q! X1 {+ ?

$ f2 @+ D; M: I9 o' o• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO$ P: R2 i, `# b. m7 D6 {$ S6 L$ Q
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up& c4 V1 F. _% ?. p$ o$ d

ADMINISTRATION+ D" ~. H1 y! t) {
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position' i. }+ w/ G: o7 o
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
7 L3 j6 J9 R) `• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
, \* a# x; h9 H$ l) `& q+ P% M• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
* H5 U. b& g+ ]7 t/ ]0 t4 E• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required # b' I# X9 a# {3 l* M
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency+ K2 w% e2 M. |7 l1 F- _
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services8 J% a9 x N$ @$ N
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances# A. x) s! j1 P; K
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
8 p: U4 r# A: [( t$ e ~) Y [) ^: |• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
/ B# U( q& ]+ l! l, J• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)/ O6 _# A, R$ J0 h W& q$ x
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ) @5 S$ {1 {$ \, p' P% o7 k. q
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

- c1 H/ D A5 b( f1 m• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination/ ], N0 u' R) T
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability

• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial # o/ A s! U8 H6 l& o& T
