The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.1 f0 N4 ~% e" Z* ^# P

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

OPERATIONS
0 K$ T" h7 G' K" A• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.$ D, w2 @% e! C. u4 \% H, T
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
1 K4 e& M8 f4 A- @7 B% i• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge4 c) \% b$ t$ U1 ?( o5 w
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.: r. P' u/ \' `' g6 b
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.) ?0 o) r; S3 ^: W* q
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
0 E* e3 K; S: k/ B0 Y1 d7 Y) a$ Z• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
; x% s- H/ m4 y* C• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities5 y! e: b" L1 G% [
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
0 B- w) n ~/ V4 G; v9 ?3 M• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
, K$ L @6 U, F1 a7 ~# H: H• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up4 i( n4 W$ _! s3 n3 l U

ADMINISTRATION
! ^6 p2 M5 n; A0 @1 [8 ~• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position) C4 E `" k7 \: `
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation9 {% f* M" J6 z) ]7 i0 I
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate+ T. }7 z" _' x& R' b/ O7 U2 H
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department* ?* z5 o E1 _
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
# L+ d! f7 C! G1 s# T2 `" e• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
5 W. ^& H: u; {3 z• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

FINANCE; O1 G& U8 z; ]
• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
! d, L' x# O+ C' N/ S0 }• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required: Y* v6 H- m8 H; d5 o s, A3 q

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS4 _5 s, l+ g/ p' x8 u
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers. p; B8 H! H) |7 C% L4 C8 E
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
u' i' N$ Z& Y7 h1 }' x• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate + k; v; s9 i! e U- u, g5 _
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

# J9 P: ]9 i( m2 r/ f. o( B: T" l; g5 m6 _/ o) F) _
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination, P$ J4 V) g# e( ]
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability4 H! x% K: Z- n9 m1 q) h; b
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
8 T ]# g; }) M6 _• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
9 O' m* c ]2 a* V! n• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure/ W0 p; K+ k5 T d5 S# I( p
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
3 n5 W8 g, K3 H7 Z4 X• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality* h' j+ N6 B4 Q( i
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
