The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week.   The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Job Responsibilities:  C, d. C) y' u: ^

OPERATIONS  v' L% b/ i3 a- C
•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
8 {/ a7 W9 ]: D; e* N•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
( j+ |3 f: m0 l' X' [$ H: z•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge+ e) Y) N! }6 M
•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
% ~& o0 I+ J3 g2 T; q•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.7 t. j' f* f6 J$ Q  s( U. f1 O
•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.1 E- `3 X: A/ O: w5 I# z9 _: h/ n
•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
( Y& N% }4 b1 w* P1 B. \•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities$ a5 T$ _5 t( S0 e/ R5 @
•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required9 z" H) o- j/ v3 u

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
" k) _5 E/ d9 U8 g, _•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO" y# R+ q8 s8 g' X! y. I
•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION5 t" L" Y$ g) Y
•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
: V. G2 P. H- L  s$ O( n$ ^* \•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
1 k, f  I4 ]; b4 c: h- m•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate3 R8 x; m: t$ ~" K8 l. }) J
•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department* D" b! }( ~$ ?% G: S+ i& H7 n
•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required * D0 {7 w) X$ l* p% G# r$ b
•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency+ f, y) g4 n" K, P
•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services' C$ b' V+ _! W# h# G9 r7 T/ r0 a
•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes
' Z( r# Y- R+ [2 l•        Prepare a regular monthly program report0 J6 {* Q% c: P9 h* b' r

•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances# T) k5 c8 w. b6 `
•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required0 M* P  E8 I8 T8 I6 V! i. l( j' O, `

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS3 Q9 ?$ i6 ^5 z* _: E& M6 N
•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers% v  r. d, X: d3 I4 n  s+ ]# N
•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)1 B* k& b7 p6 G. |3 {0 G+ j
•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
6 Q/ K7 S. P* S+ D$ V! C; T•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:
* n& B* j, n* k0 C& B: L% G1 a( ?  s6 }& F: g: h
•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination/ u2 P" s8 R. g& G" {: [9 h: @
•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability9 m- d: F4 J/ e. C
•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills9 R0 X4 p4 v0 p0 l
•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
7 @: \: `: G9 @2 a& {0 b* ^& v5 D•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
$ n  {" q" ^- S) ~/ m•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects ) c  q) g( t0 o1 j# N5 A
•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
0 w7 Z2 i" d1 t•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
) w7 t$ D/ s7 a, e6 w* @9 ^* k# I, e3 B
