The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA., p6 g/ {& i! v/ R

0 k( r* b1 k* h+ d5 WThis is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week.   The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.3 O. ]1 I/ r- q% V( T, |8 o0 ?5 h

# A( f0 y8 L  a8 o7 f/ {Job Responsibilities:0 F# ^7 s. k  u, D: k5 r: f3 j

OPERATIONS+ D% o% B( j6 N& k
•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.2 x, S2 A' E' |6 ^9 y
•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
3 l/ }/ v. ?; M3 ~& L& K•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
% c+ b  Z0 n6 R; n& X6 T•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills., c) X8 v0 a& _+ e% d. W5 _
•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.% s" F9 ?- d9 j' f; T
•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.$ x) ?! E4 j. c8 Z' ]+ Y* k- Z% w/ o
•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
" u3 a$ u# o. Y4 ~# |/ f, S! R% C•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities& Z$ D- \. G8 \2 u3 D
•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

$ L! E! L& f2 j, g8 CSPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
+ c7 k, ^/ R% x" a$ q) k3 k& X, v•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
) B  R/ }) a8 i: J4 v0 |/ ^•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
  v& Y. j* S/ `•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position& t! Y) q/ U. _# e- r. O" C0 L
•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation! K; X$ z& Z7 |  `% A
•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
, G4 @" G2 i1 W3 ]1 T5 }•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department+ T2 m9 l. {' A2 m& o4 }& ~
•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
# p5 M' m) z. u, c. B/ l9 X•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
9 s8 n6 \  Y( k•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
) V5 n& d0 {( j1 `1 T" }•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes
8 `5 E  C5 i4 f: g5 P/ Y7 r" A•        Prepare a regular monthly program report

•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
( P/ Z/ n1 c: d: w% L•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

* g8 V) U2 n2 B( }  @# [INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
; Y. O. E7 u, }* @5 F  L0 x+ ?# f, W•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers% b6 m6 h; Q4 M5 U
•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
% u0 S( N6 m5 Y* x  _' c•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
' Q% K- c3 E7 G•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required1 o$ l: V: [* E* f

3 {, `9 d/ n" p2 {0 |, _Qualifications:
3 d4 j" J4 Y! r6 t, L/ S  s" I+ R( ?# k. \/ C7 Q) |
•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
( Z1 o  Y$ s" B•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
  p8 F# S0 o2 y•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills' J! o4 V- g9 h4 y& \% A
•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
! R* _$ h: U( b) {! _$ R1 r•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure/ T* n! d$ P2 I* b5 j/ x- L- N
•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 1 O  s4 ]7 {# T" a  M6 N
•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality* T8 X& K1 H8 G! W  |! Z9 Z+ X
•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
