Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

Major Responsibilities:
3 n5 R5 c' }; r) c• Process research equipment design;/ @* X l- V# s9 [: \/ l, \4 q
• Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
- k+ j- x3 N4 |! C% t4 U• Equipment fabrication guidance;
+ Y" d) M8 ]1 s; S' \• Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
0 d* s k! ~+ B- `• Others.2 R3 W5 F% c4 X: L- C4 v9 a% w
) G" I# p- b1 A* [2 o8 l2 M( L6 W
Qualifications:, ?" `6 s. b4 z, c5 z+ [
• Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months. 8 g3 j- ]4 ~ g" }; \3 ^) G& e
• Equipment design experience is required;' \$ `" U H. B: Q' e: w9 O* g
• Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;' _1 q. X" A' B' ]
• Familiar with CAD software;
9 c& c7 O3 q9 x4 v; g% W9 ~' ^• Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
6 |: ? m% I- R6 q; G0 }5 Y• Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term. ' D2 @# _+ ?7 t! U- @! e# K
