Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

Major Responsibilities:# `7 E- g; {% p6 y. K) i1 \! {4 Y
• Process research equipment design;# N" _; b, [! w
• Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
! {& m6 K% i1 u r* W5 `% l• Equipment fabrication guidance;% g; ^- z& N% N2 j. Y+ t6 E
• Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
' n d4 O% d0 @• Others.

0 c7 J" w3 q, ?' m$ r" B4 fQualifications:/ q5 s/ c7 h" s: N
• Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
i3 [) F, G' n& L; z* g• Equipment design experience is required;
0 u3 R+ [( b- h5 d, r7 j( ]• Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;% W1 d2 [, ]9 L( U* U: l5 b
• Familiar with CAD software;5 r9 [* Q; C8 {+ e# l' }
• Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
2 C; t7 i5 R0 l# }• Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Compensation:
! R4 D: n) ^% e0 [$ S! KSuccessful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
