9 Z9 O# l( C( fAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
( o7 g# Y' F1 o" d  q) B• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
7 I' e2 e. Q! c0 `# Z$ U• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
* }# Q5 ?- J7 x+ l! Z0 k• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
8 @" _- D) C9 B. H( e• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
* p/ t# j* n6 x: x. M6 f9 Z7 h• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
( b. k6 i; S8 S% E6 i2 G* u2 y• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

: a1 O/ v( Y7 K% r2 oSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
! o/ d9 X. w. b1 v9 a  _7 n. S• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
& @$ o, j/ U  E9 \6 w/ ?• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
! J: ~( ]4 }8 v. Q+ K. k* f• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
; \! _6 G5 F2 G! Y7 p, A• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
