Primary purpose: The Social Worker works in partnership with settlement workers or

provide supplemental support to newcomers who have complex needs.

The position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff, . c d; `! {/ g: ?8 J2 L& E
newcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social
" V% A2 o* D1 o1 U% x J! wWorker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
4 F$ o9 o" H$ \* c1 s$ Rneeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for $ m3 O9 q% Q9 [3 K8 [6 ]7 U
newcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial & m2 L7 F$ w! Y
assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-$ e" Q1 T) R# S, o4 _/ y: y3 i
centered delivery model.

Work in partnership with settlement workers or cultural brokers to provide supplemental

Qualification

. @) ?! L4 _5 }4 P Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and 0 @1 s, X% p! K* w6 z* m: X' b
experience in Social Work or related human service fields.
0 V+ l6 K7 c P* r9 t- _' N; Z7 d Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family
8 D! A# Q& i0 z" Q1 D/ b5 a6 @support needs
8 a) Z) I8 p# r5 N) X) U# k Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications , o. S8 F; L2 F* H
Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages
