Job Description:

Recruit Participants
  M% i! t* |) e, t5 b
-        facilitate recruitment of participants for the Keshotu Leadership Academy
-        conduct interviews to ensure participants have necessary qualities
, R% F$ J! `. Z# \; J/ U
: z4 k8 ]# e0 J! l3 P0 g( b1 OOrganize Leadership Training Sessions
-        locate an appropriate venue for weekly meetings
! `" o  @$ J; D: _4 e9 g4 @-        set up a plan for the span of the project (Jan 08 – Dec 08) for weekly meetings
-        use project proposal to ensure time is spent with all identified areas

' j1 Z" q! N$ W" E' `1 i' bPlan and Facilitate identified public events
9 S. H5 V0 H9 ?8 _-        with youth participants

Media coverage
-        work with media consultant to ensure good coverage of project

Networking
  a8 W' ]* E6 |& k" F8 v-        attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate
- u4 l' W* h5 U7 O-        create and maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations

Professional Development
-        Be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.

Proposal Creation
2 V& M% R0 f( Z% I" c: |-        With program manager, create proposals to continue funding of this project.
+ P: n9 a, w( }: ?* k-        Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators

Reports to Funders and Program Manager
3 j; l& b! d2 E. Q3 P-        submit quarterly reports to program manager and timely reports according to requirements of each funder

Project Evaluation
" H$ t9 ?1 G+ x# x+ R-        work with external evaluation consultant to collect appropriate data for evaluation
7 [3 V% T. ^6 t' k( D9 k-        include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model
  [9 E/ K5 W% n

Qualifications for this Position

-        excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society
  }+ y1 f9 N+ ^/ k5 g& L* w-        demonstrated leadership abilities with youth
; ^  y7 r3 Q4 R3 [$ F-        experience with project coordination
1 k8 h, @. P$ y. {-        degree or diploma in human services field
& L* r0 N' C7 Q1 m! {-        developed knowledge and skills in one or more performing arts
