Position: Program Manager / Terms: Full-time / Salary: $40,493 - $61,945/ yr, with pension & benefit package / Hours: 35 hrs week, some evenings-weekends / Start date: 06.01.10 / Closing Date: 05.13.10.

Areas of Responsibility

Financial / Budget & Payroll: monitor time-sheets for staff; create yearly budget for program to be approved by executive director; make changes to budget as needed; regular reports to executive director on budget/spending; Supervise Staff – ensure timely planning of future funding takes place; monitor 4–6 staff personnel & program progress; communicate with all project funders; monitor evaluation of program.$ a$ {3 y7 L4 ^+ j+ q' j# U3 b% F
) x6 W! L% b& O. M$ l7 v, [
Reports to Funders: ensure all staff submits timely reports including evaluation of their programs; Manager completes financial report in consultation with accountant; Maintain files for each program for each funder of the program; Report to executive director on proposals and report submissions to each funder for each program.

E; t. G9 F: H4 m. aWork with Partners/Public: answer queries and concerns from partners and public; ensure partners are well informed of program status. Annual Report – create annual report on all activities of the program prior to Annual General Meeting. Professional Development – Be informed on current issues on race relations and youth leadership training.

- o0 ~4 ^% m& q6 pProposal Creation: write or supervise writing of all proposals to all funders of programs; Ensure communication with funding representative is adequate; Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal.; l) M9 v. g* P. r- s/ W2 @

Key Qualifications: Good knowledge of an Aboriginal or central African culture/ language; Excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society as it applies to Aboriginal people and/ or African immigrants/refugees, and the formal education system; Experience working with Aboriginal and/or African communities. Experience facilitating workshops; Knowledge of the issues facing high-risk racialized youth & experience working on skill development with youth0 R" E. x. G6 \+ m6 F" Y! u; }, O0 ^
. O' c+ a/ {- r7 k6 R& Y9 j2 IPLUS: Knowledge/experience with youth leadership training; Personnel management experience; Computer skills in information management, communication/spreadsheets. University degree in human services, preferably with a focus on education and/or study of race relations.0 M. g+ ^) v4 c8 j2 F1 l3 m& U. h3 t
