Position: Program Manager / Terms: Full-time / Salary: $40,493 - $61,945/ yr, with pension & benefit package / Hours: 35 hrs week, some evenings-weekends / Start date: 06.01.10 / Closing Date: 05.13.10.

Areas of Responsibility

Financial / Budget & Payroll: monitor time-sheets for staff; create yearly budget for program to be approved by executive director; make changes to budget as needed; regular reports to executive director on budget/spending; Supervise Staff – ensure timely planning of future funding takes place; monitor 4–6 staff personnel & program progress; communicate with all project funders; monitor evaluation of program.4 g7 c" ~" s5 a0 x O

Reports to Funders: ensure all staff submits timely reports including evaluation of their programs; Manager completes financial report in consultation with accountant; Maintain files for each program for each funder of the program; Report to executive director on proposals and report submissions to each funder for each program.0 z6 V- \9 y; ]% t
( u- s6 n- @( L8 ?) U0 HWork with Partners/Public: answer queries and concerns from partners and public; ensure partners are well informed of program status. Annual Report – create annual report on all activities of the program prior to Annual General Meeting. Professional Development – Be informed on current issues on race relations and youth leadership training." n4 b/ I0 \0 V- z" h% ]) L( ?
g, y1 H3 T/ f; o- w: Q3 lProposal Creation: write or supervise writing of all proposals to all funders of programs; Ensure communication with funding representative is adequate; Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. D: K! Z3 X0 `( q* F7 F% o5 Z
# p; b8 ?5 N" m, Y3 A/ OKey Qualifications: Good knowledge of an Aboriginal or central African culture/ language; Excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society as it applies to Aboriginal people and/ or African immigrants/refugees, and the formal education system; Experience working with Aboriginal and/or African communities. Experience facilitating workshops; Knowledge of the issues facing high-risk racialized youth & experience working on skill development with youth

PLUS: Knowledge/experience with youth leadership training; Personnel management experience; Computer skills in information management, communication/spreadsheets. University degree in human services, preferably with a focus on education and/or study of race relations.! k# s* G) r+ m& D2 Q1 o. J+ G: o
