3 C. Z1 u ]6 X: F- I3 rthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 0 o2 F s' X0 c4 V( j
the Board of Directors; J- E: _7 z, P& Z3 u
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
2 l- C2 f2 S) Q4 F: ~including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 2 T2 t6 q0 F" i2 O- f$ t* B) A
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
$ e- k1 F0 S' T• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 4 m# g' W. [8 U3 R# q- ]* R, h
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 8 }0 Z5 ^6 a$ p# r, k% i
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion & S) {% x6 j8 S
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; * k; P7 ?: f b0 l$ K
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 4 S8 [/ K" z" F2 v n
changing needs of the organization and community; : a! x a% G! m" @: G" T
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
/ F; }! S# m# z3 m) s, _, `commitments; ( T5 u3 X ^ y# Y
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; : u; p5 L. c4 A9 C- u; U! d( S% w& c4 ]
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 8 m$ ] m1 g/ z8 o
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 7 ~7 H; H" O6 J. X* i0 @
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 1 z3 u P/ M4 K. U# y; q3 l6 Z/ L
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
e& e& A7 E6 n1 g' H- T• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
# i! ^7 S, S# Uperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 5 v7 H* z: P6 `
the forthcoming year; * [$ M/ r {. l V
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
( f2 K9 [# M* J: Q ?% c6 w+ Zpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
6 M y4 U: p2 T, Y6 \( E5 z XYWCA Canada; and

4 Y, V' d7 J! L6 s" N• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 4 C% h$ e8 k# d# @! u
& l, x8 v9 e) RRequired Experience 1 U h4 K! o8 y: N! a4 }& f
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
1 a- o- v3 ~8 F C4 Q• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
( S) v3 M6 n- d) [4 Z8 m4 U1 Jabilities; 2 P% i) c7 L% f1 w( A {0 T' m
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
