execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
) R3 ?8 ~& V: r9 Q2 Q% c$ Uthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
1 m1 e& p. a" p6 z/ Lthe Board of Directors;
. m- n; \- C3 L7 {1 E/ c• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
2 t$ u& |2 ]( A" u# Nincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
, H& `' \* A: |4 A- Senable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
% n9 d# t# C' T. s0 ]• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
" [+ L# f7 q3 J. e; tobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

T9 V5 p" w2 o; w% b• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
0 {, k& F5 N: h( e" I• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 7 x/ f. R, |, o+ x
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
+ j0 b+ F4 B& ~% ~• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
1 X3 F0 n8 k7 t5 W0 b; Mchanging needs of the organization and community; 1 [ q3 K" S( [9 p# r$ V
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 4 y! s7 F5 u' O+ W2 C" c
commitments;
) i8 i2 ~2 K# t/ A& [# b& c• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 1 [5 r' p) L% q7 P
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective + F0 ], ?, N# o$ E# g$ ~6 r) m
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
( g2 g& J/ u- A5 W6 e. z+ [• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
3 o* n; r8 R9 [! P \# m• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to # O/ |9 A* g1 H* a2 H4 Y0 b7 S
effectively and positively represent the association; 0 P+ P6 E! S: H: k
, W* o$ I7 L- C. K! |1 q• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 7 n) I% @0 B, k, V- q
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
1 @8 ?; n1 U: j* Z) _, t1 j• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
1 b; B2 h6 I2 a1 {, q" O1 Hperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
1 w) P& {& v h. R% j9 b/ Y2 Vthe forthcoming year; ( P" q" Z4 H+ G2 Q; W _) U2 E
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
9 H- a8 U3 S# y& kpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ; O1 h$ ^0 D) C! D6 K# n( D/ E

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification
. v% J4 \/ ~/ t# ^ K• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

) E5 A) R! h+ X* J• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 4 l& T* n$ R& r$ B
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
