this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and " v/ C# _. I, A5 B- w( {
execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 9 e7 R k8 Q' P+ l3 J/ S3 P7 u0 I
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
/ F0 o" F! x0 L" Zthe Board of Directors; . ]1 K6 F* W, D" V+ h3 i
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
! f, C1 d: _0 `0 K* x8 C, Z3 zincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ( R) U5 R- B7 w( ^5 M
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 0 F6 E; d+ H/ d3 a; Q! T1 ^
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 7 J J# y! h, ^6 _" u; j
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by I( ~+ \4 w% `
the board;
5 b( {& U; k! L2 ?) c• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; k% H- X3 x7 r7 h: l& e* h
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
, v" A$ s; X7 Z+ {. Ithe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
+ X! W6 b* U, b6 z. S& ~& I4 o• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the : J, U/ V. c' P3 v* Q: f
changing needs of the organization and community; ; c# @0 d/ K" P5 `+ ?5 x
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
( N# K ]3 F! L; v. K. s6 @commitments;

• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
$ C2 [: l( n/ H B! ^: k- [selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 8 X7 V. D8 w) H0 F' l% ?
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
9 N8 V; z4 z9 w- C7 c0 d% h• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
* F8 i; F, G5 z; `0 Q/ i7 B( n4 K' Deffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ) d, i6 S: h z9 V* n2 {) A$ Y: Z
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
( {( x( L# B( U! C) e+ _• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 4 Y' g" X9 N5 _, I0 h$ G9 R
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
5 y# Z- `% s( C, Y& uthe forthcoming year;
. E% T0 d5 q0 p) y6 w' I' g7 `• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
7 t" O4 @# ]3 |practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

5 e9 c' g$ t, `7 D• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
( y2 R8 f: d9 o4 [7 S• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation : G7 l; L8 Y, C) q# M- K' d
abilities;
5 o Q# Y4 d2 t- K# Z( c• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
