Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
* E7 |# t9 i4 Pthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
5 h6 k, K- y: e" D2 R9 q' Rthe Board of Directors; 0 `9 Z# V3 ]+ S( h) }1 e7 h
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations + B8 Z# p( j+ y ?! c; i
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
+ y$ C. ~; N, jenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; / K' w( I% o, ?& y
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and . |0 E9 A2 T- ]. ], F1 G
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 9 T% Z* U. O* i' I* J+ e
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
* v( l: @- z+ _) @' G7 Athe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; l+ h) A, s, D8 x. u
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the & i6 W+ u. M) b+ G: d5 R8 b
changing needs of the organization and community; 7 n+ F9 R3 B; _# V
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
: E7 y" o9 L) \! \; Acommitments;
: L, j5 n, q% k• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 3 y( b% f ]' c* X
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective * X/ l; e, g) n8 T% e, U! D. z
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
/ y1 o3 B; l; @! z9 M- D. ^$ b• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; : e; f0 s5 x7 R, Q( Q4 e* n C% H
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

5 i' T0 {3 `$ X* F: z• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring " [/ \ q9 x) F _5 Q
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; ' G- [5 j+ `8 E' R& C- e
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
' u) f* \& l. {7 n4 W! k. zperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
: n* c/ t, e" n0 [the forthcoming year;
- P; h% j- K1 z' R" b7 g( ~/ J. J• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
/ S! |# O) X4 \+ spractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of . s" J8 f: V4 i. @. |& B

Required Professional Designation / Certification
* h, t( z$ p7 @0 n• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
8 D1 R& Z2 W7 E• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
0 z$ V& K' U3 P1 m5 h! u8 j8 h• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
; {/ ^1 C r" Z, D4 b+ D6 rabilities; ' j& _1 J1 ?, L
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, * h# j: u U* h+ p; ]
Networking and Fundraising; 7 `' W5 u. N+ S$ i
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting # f" R) Y6 u4 v9 I% [

centered perspective.
