The IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.) w$ N/ y0 ]5 E. \/ S/ m$ s

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers
* L' r6 O- c3 G& a§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution
9 [& s" O5 S# C0 I§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation+ a( y0 d( a) z% r
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
% W/ _+ _( Z+ m§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
- K( ? N! y8 `/ V3 I0 \3 i§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert X, x; L% B+ I9 z, C' L) T
§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external parties
! V( L9 K; f/ y* }; K§ Special projects as required

, P' O5 w2 [6 s" p) z7 I/ r§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience2 P3 {7 V, K( S

§ Fundamental commitment to customer service
+ a& d$ T( ?' v4 w§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues

§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software

Z; h# e* o§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems

The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto).

§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives% o1 g. y& i. J4 C/ }/ Z& Z4 t6 {
§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports% h- p/ [7 y2 N# x* [2 M% x
§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation' c. g1 W& q; u8 i4 S: l
§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to2 f2 h/ {2 p4 O# w2 [
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times

§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures1 b m" y' I9 N
§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan

§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

§ Implementation and support of small systems technology initiatives in conjunction with SYSCO Canada IT
