The IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers9 t& `" N8 p8 x* s% o6 U
§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution 1 g# p# J+ ]7 g# U
§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation
4 Q" f; q$ O1 U( t/ I. h' \" ?§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times* P8 l' x6 t( n" C: f3 m! _
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
4 z. E3 u6 ^+ {# V7 _' ?3 b+ K§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

; B# v/ j0 I* e# h§ Special projects as required

Qualifications:
4 x! I P; b5 ?! _§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience
/ s" d4 C) g! C7 d& D$ M% `; w§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision" D" r# f) S2 h: h! O* S }
§ Fundamental commitment to customer service
: |$ m# }- Q7 [& i& R§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues; \) r% b. q5 f+ p( Y+ n# D- ^+ V
§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware

[; j# v$ G§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems

) M& y1 O$ u2 ~+ ]9 e9 Q+ TThe IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto). 5 x. I3 g6 Q @# W6 l" t E8 Z* B

§ Oversee and provide small systems technical support

§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports
+ a) D' [7 G9 l! @3 F, B0 W( e§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation
3 R0 R4 M% T2 A; l7 i. D§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to

§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access. a5 L# @% b" q+ w& ^) z8 E& _
§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures. `' \1 g+ e7 h3 J
§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan7 m% R% W# r2 N- ?/ B
