Children’s Summer Program Assistant, 2010

Responsibilities:
-        Support the Summer Children’s Program Coordinator in the preparation and implementation of the Summer Camps
-        Assist with facilitating the summer children’s program
-        Assist with preparing final report for funding agencies
-        Act according to the guidance or direction of the Summer Program Coordinator
% d& f# ^& x9 o-        Assist with any other program related tasks as assigned by the Senior Program Manager

Qualifications:
/ ?% p5 F8 l6 B  d) [' ?-        Post secondary student in Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Early Childhood Development, or equivalent of experience and education
-        Should have some experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
+ w2 \& p4 Z& m' _# s( R8 S2 n-        Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
-        Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
: Y, Y3 _9 }/ |& L1 D$ ~- f-        Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
-        Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
-        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-        Must be a returning student to a post-secondary institute in Fall 2010
-        Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Other Information:
) x8 {+ ?' ^% w" L6 r-        Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm (30 hours/week) in May and June (planning) and 8:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
! t: H/ P6 s% r9 h-        Employment term is May 25 to August 31, 2010

Salary
# G) j) t: ~" N) ]: F2 r% Q-        $14.00 per hour
