Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
+ u2 @- Z" `4 q After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again. 1 b' O: l/ I9 ?: T& R3 A, v1 @# P
It is a cycle.

$ O: C: V' y2 R- tWe isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.3 q1 `' y) ]1 h( ]
Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.: B4 G/ B/ \$ w' s
The problem should be inside the bucket.

When the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.1 v* N: M3 H2 X1 [
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
/ X- n6 U4 n$ C5 S- L+ gConfirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.+ j: C5 u9 c+ O% J- P) S3 L) H
0 T ]1 n1 |5 d) ^* h' eThe next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.9 W! j7 o& ^! D' S
They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.
( C. R( ~& ~% ?) Y$ y It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working. % j- v2 A' D) x) B( @' F

The coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them.
