Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
# G4 A% B1 B7 j0 { After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.

We isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains., n* G3 }5 [3 n( u
Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
) c" b8 C5 @+ \9 U oThe problem should be inside the bucket.8 t( N! O6 R, X0 K& a# l

When the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.
) h9 j" @. v0 b3 E$ U0 |7 d. L# }Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either. s8 b4 _+ W) e% W% k7 F: e. D
Confirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.

; a( y: S- w5 mThe next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.( ~" P: f! }/ ~
They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.+ k5 d0 z9 e* ^
It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.
