can't，cannot 和 can not

can 和 can't 的发音区别说过许多次了，不再罗嗦。

cannot的发音，重音是在第一个音节上。中国同学多数人会说错。

因为发音不对，很多时候在写作是也会把cannot误写成can not。

有些前卫的语言学家认为 can not 可以用来 代替 cannot。但是绝大多数英语人口表示，除了在中国学生的论文里，从来没见过或者用过can not这种形式。

但是，实际上在某种极为特殊的语境下，可以见到 can not。比如

2 z1 t. e  U& d$ d7 k: O+ WYou can stay here; or you can not stay here. It's up to you. 但是这里的 can not 和cannot意义完全不同。实际这句话的意思是，

You can choose to stay here; or you can choose not to stay here. It's up to you.

can't 用于口语中，比如 I can't go to school because I'm sick.
cannot 用于正式的书面表达，比如在托福考试中，can't这种写法一定是错的。
只能用正式的语言。相同的还有 does not, I am, they are ,there is, it is and so forth.
在有些作文里，用 so on 或是 so forth 也是不被接受的。这要看阅卷人的喜好了。有些老师要求你举出实际的3个例子或是你知道的几种例子，so on 或 so forth 不够具体。比如：  
3 V" n8 T' _9 z5 Y: m  JI like doing sports such as jogging, swimming, horseriding, and kayaking. （正确）
I like doing sports such as jogging, swimming, horseriding, kayaking and so on.(不太合乎英语的表达方式）至少是在正式的写作时。

这是一个formal和informal 的问题， 口语上可以用什么都可以， 但是essay里面要用cannot， 现在的word里会直接改正can not， 所以说不用担心拼写的问题
